Awesome!
Remind me to never piss him off.
I bet those leg kicks hurt.
I wanna see him go MMA full time and fight Brock, Mir, Cain and Kongo…why not Roy too, haha.
I was slightly surprised my MP’s speed. But to all people who predicted that MP would own, just remember that this is his first fight. He needs to win several to be deemed a good fighter.
nice one! awesome kick power for a big guy.

He’d be something to see but I’m not sure he’ll dominate. He’s going to have to drop some serious weight to get close to a point where he can cut to 265.
Plus he really will have no ground game to speak of. Big obstacles to overcome.
Best bet for him would be in Japan where they would use him in ‘freak show’ matches against Bob Sapp etc.
Why should he actually cut down?

To be allowed into a REAL promotion and not a sideshow.
Pretty crude…just bum rushed him and over powered him. Was expecting a little more finesse to go with all that speed and power (with a boxing and martial arts background)…but hey, whatever works

I thought people on this board knew about strength?
You people obviously have no idea exactly how fucking strong Mariusz is. Do you think that he will get his ass handed to him by almost every proficient fighter?
And don’t spew the Bob Sapp argument on here, first of all Mariusz has a way better base than Bob, and 2nd you only hear about Bob’s fuckups. He had actually kicked quite some ass simply by using raw power.
I’m not hopping on Mariusz’s dick and saying that he’ll immediately start winning, but I am saying that he will do far more damage than some of you here give him credit for.
Savickas kicked his as at every Arnold classic strongman event. does that mean he would be even more badass. Strength is fine, but you need to know how to fight well at a high level.
He is a great athlete, and he did box professionally, but how good was he? He did a fourth degree black belt in something, but then again, how often did he fight?
Strength means something up to a point. As long as the other guy is strong enough to fight well, the ability and will to fight, along with your technical ability will determine how well you do.
A farmer’s walk or stone laoding is nice in that event, but a faster set of hands and hitting you in the puss is another thing.
I’ll agree that the technique most likely is not there. Machida has thus far been the only karate guy to have any measure of success in a high level organization. That said, you don’t think the farmer’s walk plays into MMA? Do you watch UFC countdown shows or training videos? Grip strength is one of the best things to have as a grappler or someone looking to neutralize a grappler. Say Mir got full mount on Puz put Puz got a hold of Mir’s wrists… how long does Mir just sit there before they stand back up? I’m not saying strength would win every time because that’s beyond stupid, but superior strength can gloss over some weak points.
On a side note. Bobby Lashley, former pro-wrestler…bascily a monster, just signed wit strikeforce. He has like a 4-0 MMA record. Ive never seen him fight but his size rivals Brock, Mir, Rogers etc. Anyone know anything else about this guy?
Frigging gorilla
btw…hes 6 3", 250 lbs and peeled. I just wanna kno if the boy can actually hang in a ring or just another hyped up wrestler.
That was a fucking entertaining 30 secs. Imagine how overwhelmed that guy must have felt being hit by that freak of nature.
I’d like to see Pudz fight Chuck Norris.
Would have liked it to go further, but theres clearly a reason it didnt. Those kicks looked SERIOUS.
Hopefully he’ll take another fight sooner than he planned after taking no punishment - then maybe a couple more then he could focus on another WSM.

I know someone who used to do strongman. Not top level - but he was bloody strong… 480 bench for reps, 600lbs squat, 550 deadlift… think he was around 240lbs at a guess. He boxed this cocky young guy at the gym one time and got KO’d. The guy was about 150lbs. 240lbs’er was about 30, this young kid was 19 aparently.
Your logic is wrong, sorry.
P.S For the record - the kid that KO’d him never did any weights except bicep curls a few times in his life.
I see whats going on here! You have no idea what the hell you’re talking about! 480 Bench? 600 Squat? seriously? Thats like average top 10% in the gym stuff. What the hell does that comment mean? thats a strong guy? I knew a 350lb guy much stronger than that got his ass kicked by a 190 lb guy in a boxing match. I never said the stronger guy will always win. I basically said that “hypothetically, ultimately” stength will win. Especially without overly constricting rules. 99.9% of the time I agree with YOU! But MP is the 0.1%. Whatever dude. We’ll see.
P.S. I don’t even count this win. That was ridiculous. Keep watching.

Wow dude you have no fucking idea what you are talking about. You should stop speaking out of our ass because your just making yourself seem stupid. Before you start commenting on subjects, maybe you should get a clue and actually practice a bit of MMA. Then you would know that jiu-jitsu is now a cornerstone of any MMA practitioners and its not because of luck contrary to your beliefs.
It’s the internet. I can speak out of my ass if I want to.
I don’t believe in jiu-jitsu, I think it is mostly voodoo bullshit. My previous post already made this clear. I am not impressed by those guys who roll around in white robes. Didn’t those Brazilians who supposedly founded the sport end up getting their asses kicked? They have an entire family with many generations of fighters yet how many still occupy the top ranks today?
I still think physics and strength will trump all. I did not say that technique had no place. Just that its place is inferior to that of strength.
Do you know who you technique evangelists remind me of? You remind me of those 140-lb “functional strength” faggots who are always harping about the superiority of their training methods to “dumb bodybuilders and powerlifters”. Generally it is the skinny and weak guys who claim they know some special move that will nullify their huge physical disadvantage.
I have noticed that martial arts tend to attract lots of short and puny guys for precisely the above reasons. It’s nice to have a fantasy where you can imagine yourself beating up people much bigger and stronger than you.
^average tops? wtf ya taking in? get off of it.
I’d love to know how a 500lbs bench is “top ten percent average in the gym stuff”.

Yes, average TOP 10%. Even top 2%. Who cares? My point is that when you get into Mariusz’ range of strength (top handful in the world) The advantage turns to the stronger man. Just my opinion.
