I actually agree with what he’s saying. But it’s easy to misinterpret it into something else.
Fighters are born not made. You guys think Mike Tyson was who he was because of some killer technique or moves he practiced with a secret guru? He was who he was because he was born with a talent for fighting and was strong as an ox. Those two things combined with a singular mind was what it took.

me thinks you underestimate exactly how technically proficient tyson was. he was very hard to hit. and he had hand speed very rarely seen in a heavyweight. he was much more than a “one punch pony”. boxing is different than mma. top boxers are ALWAYS very technically proficient. not sure he was “born” to fight either. he was a bully and bullies are common. he fought alot from fear. and when he started to believe in himself, it was arrogance. but he was and is a fragile man. and it was his downfall sadly.

Yeah but Lesnar has a lot of skill and is a very good fighter, people just didnt know it because of the WWE shit.
If MP had a good few years to get a ground game etc this would be a diff convo we would all be having, the point is strength alone isnt enough.
LEsnar would be nothing without his size though, can we both agree on that? he has some alright skill but lets call a spade a spade and acknowledge that most of his ability comes from his size.
i train for bodybuilding, i love Lesnar, i love seeing the big guys win and take the spotlight. but even with Lesnar’s impressive wrestling background he’s not that technically solid. doesnt mean he cant just take you down and crush you though.
until something actually happens its all mere speculation. id love to see him fight, id love to see him put someone in an armbar just to shut me up about his lack of technical skills. i wonder how many more Beheamoths will switch sides and maybe theyll even be a new Megaweight class for all these 250+ pounders to do battle in.
your logic is skewed. lesnar’s success is merely an illustration of the relative weak heavyweight field in mma. even boxing has this void. it’s damn hard to find a good big man. jesus look at the fucking tomato cans on this years ufc show lineup? how many are fucking 180lb guys bloated to heavyweight? its pathetic. the field is weak. that is why lesnar can largely brute his way thru a fight.

I can easily tell that almost no one here has been punched in the face by a ridiculously strong man. If someone like Mariusz would slug you full force, you won’t be getting up for a while. It’s just the truth.
Saying that most decent fighters will beat him is just plain retarded.
But this entire thread is based on speculation. We can’t tell except if Mariusz would get in the octagon and started killing these wannabe great fighters.
you are absolutely wrong. punching is an art. just because you’re strong doesn’t mean you can throw a big ktfo punch. you’re just wrong dude. and when someone knows its coming, is trying to hit you, avoid yours, etc., in other words in a fight, throwing punches is a technical game - not a strength game. leverage, accuracy, etc. for reference see silva’s last knock out. don’t take much to put someone to sleep - just accuracy.
Strength has a place in fighting, just as speed, conditioning, skill, and toughness does. By Toughness I mean the ability to take a punch. If you have just one of these without the other four, you’ll be a worthless fighter. Skill is the most important attribute since it will teach you use the other four attributes to work for you. If MP had no fighting experience, do you think a 90 pound women who was highly skilled in BJJ could take him? I couldn’t really see it.
I think jimmyjamesii came the closest to hitting this nail on the head. If MP had no fighting experience, would a 90 lb woman with skills like no other be able to beat him? Because personally I don’t see much difference between a 90 lb woman and a 250 lb “normal human male” when we’re talking about Marius Pudzianowski. Let me admit right here that I don’t know much about the science of MMA. Are there rules against picking up your 250 lb ragdoll ass and throwing it against the floor like you got hit by a train? None of you can seriously be comparing the strength of any current MMA contender with the strength of MP are you? There are maybe 10 people in the world who are in the class of Marius and they are not in the MMA, and they are not as strong as MP. I’ve been speculating on this hypothetical fight for many years. Most people think the WSM could never beat a trained contender. My logic is ultimately strength has to win. Could any MMA contender beat a silverback gorilla? Or a grizzly bear, even with no claws? No Marius isn’t that strong but I don’t think the average human being has any idea what they’re dealing with when it comes to the worlds strongest man. I think your best fighter will be like a quick little cat, trying to make it across an 8 lane highway. Good luck.

this and the preceeding post are terribly flawed. you’re assuming that 250lb “ragdoll” as you call it is doing nothing while marius is “throwing it against the floor”. let’s have this conversation when he actually beats someone ranked. go ahead - I’ll wait. i just won’t hold my breath. and by the way, if it were possibly, its financially lucrative for him. so, he’ll either prove me wrong, or you right. if it doesn’t happen, trust me its not because he’s making a truckload of money in wsm lol.

Tell me what in the world makes you think that he could beat any of the current top people would lose to Pudzianowski? Are you joking? I’m not saying he isn’t a tough guy and with time he may be competitive, but to say that “everyone better quit” is ignorant.

Without his size he would be sherk.
Physically that’s a good comparison, however Sherk is a dangerous wrestler, that is when he uses it.

I dont know… But I’d pay to watch a human fight a Gorilla… I wonder if there is any country would allow that fight to happen?

I shouldn’t have put it so literally. Of course he probably won’t win against the higher ranked fighters. But I think many will have the same attitude of “yeah so what he’s strong, we’re trained fighters” and they’ll learn a lesson when they’re brutally overpowered.
But no, I agree that he has to train alot more and a lot longer, since the top MMA guys started young and have much, much more experience and far better skillset.
Frankly, I think we all have good points. Most of us weightlifters don’t know much about fighting (at least competitively) and most fighters don’t know much about what it takes to rep out with 400 lbs over your head. As an open minded person I’m willing to concede that MP might have a glass chin and one good pop to the jaw could end this debate. There is no way to know with any certainty.
Mariusz might be able to grab someone with no finess or technizue and choke him out because no one could offer enough resistence. “Holds” “armbars” basically techniques involving leverage I think will (lets say) not be as effective on Mariusz as on a normal person. One thing is for sure. I’m taking the day off and driveing to Vegas! No matter what…It’s going to be fight we’ll all talk about for years.
While pudz is really fucking strong, the other guy isn’t exactly a wimp. I’m sure he’s got a solid punch for a 250lbs man.
Pudz is fucking strong, but i doubt that would help you in taking punches.
Your brain is still going to rattle inside your skull.
I think this is going to be one of those first contact wins.
If he cuts the best part of 50lbs, I’m certain his strength will drop a lot. Then he has to get around drug tests, get his skills up to a high enough level, and I almost just typed “Put in a lot of hard work” … but that’s ridiculous cause I think he’s used to that.
I dont know, I’d love to see him compete. Hope he has an iron chin and pleases all the fans. No one knows till it happens, not long for his first fight, good luck Puds!
EDIT: The guy that said about taking humans and putting them against a gorilla. You’re right the human will lose. What the hell is the point in that comment? They’re five times stronger than us, they are quite literally a different animal - designed to do a different job. If you were trying to prove a point of stength/size beating skills, pick one that isnt ridiculous and compares two of the same animal.
Take a cheetah that weighs 10lbs less than you and fight it - by your logic you’ll win. It’s similar to a gorilla - spends most of its time on 4 limbs, very similar lifestyle. Please get a friend of yours to upload the video. [/ridiculous]
