I feel that what I took away from that video is how malignant narcissists gain meaning by taking other people captive in a way that they gain value in the story they are telling themselves about who they are. Narcissists need admiration and hat can spiral quickly.
Psychopaths are already a self-contained story, so other people are just objects.

Based on my experiences dating a few narcissists, there is one upside–they are extremely easy to cut out of your life. You simply have to cut off the supply of affirmation and adoration to them. Once I let them know I hate them and think nothing of them, they never bothered me again.
