Interesting. I always thought a narcissist was basically a self-serving āassholeā. This guy makes them sound like what I would describe as a depressed person.
Yeah, I think the pathology is that narcissism is a defense against feeling like a shameful little piece of shit that goes awry and continues on into a full blown personality disorder.

My father in law is a legit narcissist. If you bruise his ego he will go absolutely apeshit. I kinda hate him anyways, and Iām thinking that my next move will be to call him an alcoholic, which he totally is, but absolutely can not accept that fact.
In doing so I would injure him in a way that would make him hate me, and sever all contact for the rest of our lives, which I would be 100% OK with.
Bonus points if he seethes with rage as he drinks himself to death to prove me wrong.

Theres a lot of overlap and concomitance with some of these.
Like, Im definitely anxiety, ptsd, a fair sprinkle of depressed in there.
I do care about people though. The problems start when I either donāt care or dislike them.
