I was wondering if any one has made an axle out of thick pipe? I really need one, and this way may be cheaper than buying one. Any thoughts?

Yup, very easy go to a metal supply shop and bring a small olympic plate with you, find pipe that it fits best over. Have them cut it to a 7’ length and get some of the screw on type collars for the inside. Pipe cost me 26 bucks
