Does anybody know a good way to make your own foam roller?
It’s almost impossible to get a hold of one where I live.
Would be great with some ideas.
Thanks.

Get a big pool noodle. Walmart will probably have them in for spring soon.
Are there Wal-Marts in Sweden?
You could try the internet or other large department stores similar to a Wal-Mart.
Nope, there are no Wall-Marts in Sweden.
Okay, I can’t find it myself, but I think there was a thread a couple of weeks ago that discussed making your own foam rollers and other things for soft tissue work. Anyone know which thread I mean?
How about taking a pvc pipe and rolling a large towel around it? Would it be too hard?
I’ve heard of people doing that. Also tennis balls or practice softballs will work. Of course the harder it is, the more it will hurt.
You can probably find an online source that will ship to Sweden. If you have a Pilates studio nearby they may be able to offer advise on where to get one.
Control_61: I have found some foam rollers on
www.traningsspecialisten.se
But there must be somewhere cheaper, I need one also.
I filled a plastic 3 liter soda bottle with water. You don’t have to drink the soda, but I did (wish I hadn’t). The roller works pretty good, but it’s short. Leave a little bubble of air in the top that will compress a little when you put pressure on it.
I tried a 2" pvc pipe with pads from a dance-dance pad taped and screwed onto it, but that didn’t work very well because the padding was uneven and bunched up when I tried to roll on it.
Good luck.
Use tennis balls.
Good: Cheaper, easy to get ahold of, pinpoint pressure. Overall, you want to work your way up to this later anyways.
Bad: It’s going to hurt like hell if you skipped the initiation from foam rollers.
