Low Carb Snack Ideas?

Looking for some good LOW Carb Snack Ideas…Right now I usually snack on Fruit or Almonds, both of which are high in carbs. I was hoping you guys may have some ideas on what could replace these?

would cheese be a better choice as a snack, if trying to get lean?

Peanut butter, one spoonful makes me happy as hell.

Beef jerky is great too.

Do a search, plenty of threads have covered this.

LOL. Perfectly worded.

Other than that…it really depends on what you consider a “snack”. I’d consider hard boiled eggs to be a snack, but on the flip side, you have to take the time to make them.

Beef Jerky’s the bomb on a low carb diet

Try flaxseeds, not the most appetising but full of good fat & protein

I’d be careful with beef jerky. You guys keep mentioning it, but do you realize that most commercial brands have 3-5 grams of carbs per SERVING in the form of sugar?

-Make a cheese sandwich: Cut a thick slice of cheese and top it like you would top a slice of bread. Liver paté and cucumber is my favorite.

-Hard-boiled eggs with fish eggs and mayo.

-Soak sunflower seeds, dry them, roast dry in a frying pan. Add soy sauce.

-Drink cream. Cream fills you up like nothing else. Or make hot chocolate with it.

Of course, if you need to snack, your meals are too small. The reason people snack is to prevent their blood sugar from getting low (which is catabolic). You don’t get low blood sugar on a LC diet. Ergo, you don’t need snacks.

Thanks you guys…
Just made a dozen hard boiled eggs and been snackin on some P.B. the last couple days!

Nice to have some lower carb options for snacks, although I still love those almonds and don’t plan on cutting em out entirely.

Keep the list going if anyone else has other ideas!

A can of tuna is a staple for me. Celery sticks are great. Cottage cheese is great as well.

My afternoon snack at work is as follows:

a bag of celery, sometimes with baby carrots
22 almonds
one can of tuna

My snacks are usually walnuts/almonds, broccoli, or for a real treat I will make dark chocolate peanut butter cups(<5g carbs). I’ll see if I can find the recipe when I get home since they are amazing!

PeterD

pork rinds, you can dip them in salsa

cheddar cheese and summer sausage

celery or green onions, dipped in creamed cheese with a slice of ham wrapped around it

buffalo chicken wings with celery and bleu cheese

Another idea is Jennie-O extra lean turkey bacon. I just stick a slice in the microwave and it’s good to go.

I learned this from Jimmy Johns subs…If you dont have one you are missing out. Take two large peices of lettuce from a head of lettuce, put them together and load it up with meat and cheese and whatever you desire then fold the ends in and wrap it just like you would a regular wrap.

Oh yeh and pork rinds dipped in like a smoked bacon cheddar dip from the chip isle at the supermarket is awesome. The dip has like 2g carbs per 2 tbs.

Turkey Peperoni…toss them in the microwave, crisp them up a bit. Outstanding!

Last night I put them all on a plate with a bit of fat free cheese…wow; super f*cking good!!!

Fat free cheese?..are you gay? Embrace the cheese.
Just kidding.
But seriously, embrace it.

Dude, fat-free cheese? Is that a joke?

Cheese IS fat. Did you have it with a glass of dehydrated water?

natual peanut butter on celery
Almonds
active or what ever it is called cheese
raisins are also good

You’ve never heard of fat free cheese? Goes great with recipes already high in carbs.
