Thanks bulldog.
Today’ Bench day was a bit disappointing though
5/3/1 Cycle 3, Week 1
Bench
135 x 5
145 x 5
165 x 10 down from 165 x 12 last cycle
I rushed the set and didn’t have a rep target in mind when I started (didn’t have last cycle’s numbers with me)
The good news is my shoulder feels very good. But, not having benched in years my bar path and leg drive is inconsistent. I just don’t have the groove yet. PLus, i’m just damn weak.
BBB…I’m going to do this for bench assistance so I can get the motor pattern down.
135 x 10 x 5
Bent over laterals - I find they help my shoulder health
30 x 6, 40 x 6, 50 x 5, 50 x 6
OH tricep extension
3 x 8 reps
Quite a bit of MAchine head on my iPod
Jealous of that shoulder work…you’re doing very well. Sounds like our Ipods have something in common.

Succumbing to peer pressure, DCA?

Kimba, well aren’t you sweet. I’m not particularly comfortable with “show me your muscles”…even my wife gets the eye-roll. Must be the charms of you and n. (and the hotness, don’t forget the hotness).[/quote]
A wee bit of reluctance to show off your hard work is kind of charming. But if the wife asks for a muscle show, I’d suggest you not hesitate. Confidence in and flaunting of the assets is sex-ay. ![]()

Thanks punny man! When my some of my lifts look like those of a junior high student, I could use a little humour.

I’m not happy with pictures. I prefer video. I don’t look at the TILF thread so keep it here. Also make them lifting related. I love watching everyone lift. Videos are better because it’s less like your all my imaginary friends.
Nice arm btw. Your wife must be happy. I’d be jealous but my own arms aren’t bad either
ha. Actually I have an equally thick arm to hang off.

Once we get our camera situation straightened away and the home gym set up, I promise lifting videos. As I have never seen myself lift, I am curious about the joys or horrors that await.
I’ve seen your videos. You don’t need to be jealous of anybody.
My 9 year old son (who is awesome by the way) has been hounding me to get him a chin-up bar for his bedroom doorway. He has been bangin out chins and pullups (singles) for about an hour.
I think he wants the power rack more than I do, lol.

Exactly! Those of us who have no one to watch lift in person need the company.

Need to get my ten year old interested again.
BTW, I like the title of your thread. When my wife lifts with me I do a lot of flirting with her too, hadn’t thought about how natural lifting and flirting are together, thanks for the reminder.
Chinup bars are cool. Power racks are cooler.
Yeah, I’m with O. Keep the pics here. I don’t frequent TILF either.
Can’t wait to see your vids, Git. I’m often amazed at what I find I’m doing/not doing that I’m not even aware of.
So, I’ve been sleeping poorly lately (I’ve been an insomniac in varying degrees since high school) and my wife has been sick with a cold for a week. It hit her just before a couple of high-stress work days. She has NOT been fun to be around.
Today is squat day. My mom shows up at 8:30am to go picking blueberries. Shit…squat day screwed up but I’m secretly OK with it. Tired. Mom and I take the kids to a U-Pick. I get home at 4pm. Get kids settled. See my gym bag and go “ah, what the hell”
This song comes on as i pull in the parking lot. I forgot how awesome it is. I have it so loud my skin is tingling. This song only really works if it is obnoxiously loud. Especially if you have a double bourbon in your hand
Squats Cycle 3, Week 1
205 x 5
225 x 5
275 x 12…pauses on reps 11,12.
195 x 8
115 x 10…focus on depth and form, 3 count pause in the hole
Leg curl…reps from a dead stop
95 x 5
110 x 5
125 x 3
140 x 3
155 x 1
125 x 5
Not sleeping sucks, says one experienced insomniac to another. I hope it passes quickly.
Pretty fine work for a tired, stressed gym day. Its always worth it to show up and try.
Nice lifting for all of the stuff surrounding it.
Thanks guys. I need to adjust 5/3/1 so the reps are lower. The high reps beat me up. I’m going to tweak my max weights a bit so that I end up a couple of reps over on my 5, 3 and 1 days with no grinders.
So, 7/5/3?
Great work going on in here. And your log seems like the place to be. It’s got a bit of everything.
Oh…and sorry you the VERY belated welcome.
