Re: the plates, weighed them again last night

  • me on scale with workout clothes and belt on = 206
  • pick up 25lb plate = 231…good
  • pick up 35lb plate = 241…good
  • pick up 45lb plate = 254…fucker. At least I only need to grind the 45s

Looks liek you are really putting on some size too. You’ve got a good 14-15 lbs on me now.

I enjoy watching your setup. One of my fave things about this sport is watching the iterations people go through before the lift. I can imagine the thoughts in the mind.

Snap, I do tend to squat a bit wide. It just makes it much easier for me to sit between my legs. That being said, I don’t want to end up all ass and no quads so I’ll be mixing in some narrower stance stuff. Plus I need to put some focus on front squats at some point for the same reason.

For the time being, I’m going to step off the formal 5/3/1 bus. I’m going to keep each of the lifts but do 5, 3 or mostly single reps depending on the week. Accessory stuff will vary. Just being a little more intuitive.

I wish I had hooks on the outside of my cage. I have to do everything inside the cage and my presses sometimes hit the top. I suppose if I cared that much I could clean the weight, but that sounds too much like exercise.

My sumo and conv numbers appear to be almost identical.
