That is a good arch you’ve got going on. Why are you hating on your tris?
I seem to be struggling with the part of the lift where tris take over. You can see it stall about halfway up. They need work.

youse guys r funny
Being pissed off is a lot better than being pissed on… Remember that.
What were you mad about? You got the rep? Was that the 225? I wouldn’t hammer myself to hard, at the end of the day you managed to lock it out.
That is all the hugging I will be giving you this week, so enjoy it while you can.

WHERE IS YOUR LOG? I DEMAND THAT YOU START ONE. Then we can hug on you.
^Ok Ok Ok… I was all set to do it than I saw your chins vid.
nice bench!

Thanks. My crappy shoulder hurts a bit today. I’m pretty sure it is the bicep tendon where it inserts in the shoulder. I really need to see someone that knows what they are doing so I know for sure.
Ya know, every time I see your avatar I think it totally suits you. Looks strong and sassy ![]()

What’s your PR on bench?
Haven’t heard The Verve for ages.
I did 235 last month at the commercial gym. But, I suspect that the plates were a pound or two lighter so it probably wasn’t a true 235.
Good ear ![]()
Same with me. I haven’t listened to that record for the longest time. I forgot how much I loved it.
I think you’re being way to hard on yourself. If your PR is 235, you cant expect 225 to feel good and if it does you’re probably capable of more than 10lbs higher. Two singles at 10lbs off a PR is good going!

That log is now dead and gone. The chins video a distant memory at best. All excuses for you are gone. The time has come.
Wanted to drop and say what’s up!

Welcome aboard, I had the same problems with conventional DLs not the hip but the back, switched to sumo about a year ago. As a white guy I want to develop some ass
so I dont plan to switch back for a long time to come.
I too have had this dilemma, hopefully I will develop some ass also. My glutes/hams are my only muscles that are underdeveloped.

A lady that knows what she wants and won’t take no for an answer. I bet hubby loves that. And sometimes not so much…but mostly totally loves it.

There must be a chiro who does Active Release Therapy near you. Seriously, find him/her and book an appointment. You will not be sorry.

what’s your foot placement like? flat?
I’m still experimenting. Up on my toes feels less stable so I’m generally flat with feet angled at about 45 degrees.
What about you?
started flat feet no leg drive. Recently focused on arch and leg drive and keeping on my toes really drove the point in. Now that I know what an arch feels like and what it’s supposed to do I’m learning to keep my feet flat and get the same effect. On days when I’m tired I revert back to tippy toes because its still easier to me.

Ya know…that’s a good idea. I believe I had the same good idea a while back and just, well, got lazy. Thanks for the ass-kick. I’ll let you know what happens.

I agree about A.R.T. or even finding ‘deep tissue’ massage therapist. $30-50 very well spent.
Weirdness
Last night - squats at home with belt
275 x 5
305 x 3
335 x 0…WTF??? you piece of shit I squatted this 2 weeks ago
315 x 0…WTF??? you piece of shit
Didn’t know what to think at this point so I went in the house and stuffed myself with food.
Today - squats at commercial gym no belt.
275 x 5
305 x 3
315 x 1
335 x 1…pretty easy. WTF is going on here?
315 x 1
225 x 12…was going to go for 20 but got bored
The weights at the gym are Ivanko so I assume they are accurate but I could be wrong. I think the York weights I have at home are a fair amount heavier. It doesn’t matter that much in the long run but explains a few things (bench and OHP WTFs) and throws a wrinkle in my 5/3/1 progression.

Must remember that one!
“Yeah, I was going for a 600 lb squat the other day but got bored”
