Loadable DB Suggestions

I’m looking to make a loadable DB that I can load up 150+ for rows and a couple other movements. I want to be able to use standard hole DBs, and was thinking about just finding some adjustable clamps to put on a bar and using vice grips for outside clamps. Problem is, I dunno where I’d find a bar the right size, or how well this would work.

Anyone here do this? Suggestions?

If are looking for standard plate loadable DB which are 1" holes then this sites has want you want. http://www.warehousefitness.com/exercise-equipment/LSS/default.aspx . The SDH-10 goes up to 200lb the cost for a pair is $54 which includes shipping.

If you are looking olymplic plate loadable DB which are 2" holes that go up that high. They are little harder to find.

West Cary Barbell offers a Dumbbell Row handle that will hold 45 lb plates while still allowing enough ROM for rows.

steve, snag something like that, i’ll buy some phat gripz and we’ll have a good ol’ time rowing this spring!

Brian, I actually just got advice for how to modify one of my bent barbells to make a great loadable db, I’ll be doing that this weekend and I’ll let you know how it comes out. It’ll def be one of my “toys” I’ll be bringing up this spring…
