Ya, we won’t be fixing it.

I hate that breeders think that any inbreeding is acceptable. It’s not the dog’s fault but they can sure come out messed up.

I LOVE Boxers and Great Danes but I will never get one because I don’t want to watch them die every 7 or so years. I also won’t leave them outside and the Mrs says they can’t live inside because they’ll destroy the hardwood.

Oh yes the big dogs do some damage to the hardwood, but nothing a sanding and stain won’t fix.
Our dog has a 8-10 year life span, but with the liver issue will most likely be shorter, therefore we cannot defend spending that much on a surgery when we are not sure it will even work.
Bernese mountain dogs are the sweetest dogs I have ever met though, its a shame they have so many health problems and short life spans.
Mutts are the way to go for sure!!!

Of course, you can refinish the floors but that’s no easy task! Our mutt destroys them because she freaks out every time someone is at the door.

She spins out on the start and slides on the stop leaving gouges and scratches everywhere. Idiot.

Lmao!!! Try the same thing with a 90 lb dog!!! He is a fool when he hears the door, thankfully the kitchen tile floors take the majority of the abuse of his excitement. All dogs are idiots but that is what makes them so endearing!!

@Frank_C @littlelee your dogs are very cute, and they have do be a bit stupid to.

My favourite dogs would have to be huskies

Huskies are beautiful dogs, but they are uber smart, and need a ton of exercise otherwise they are so smart, they get bored, and destroy everything!

I keep seeing foam rolling in other peoples logs, so while bored on night shift I looked it up.

How did I not know about this?

How do people feel about foam rolling? Any success relieving hip or lat pain???

I need the info!!!

Hey LL I’ve tried it, hurts like hell. Didn’t do me any good I think.

I think there are Foam Roller classes, but not where I’m at.

Find out what you want to roll, google some youtube videos. Find the one you think sounds the best and explains the best.

I have this spikey rumble roller thing from elite fts which I love. But I also got this 10 dollar massage ball from wal mart (I was looking for a lacrosse ball because that’s what my physio suggested but this seemed better so why not waste 8 bucks ) I find the ball helps more. I can get deeper into my knots and tougher places that my roller fits awkwardly into.
It helps a lot i couldn’t imagine my life without these things now .

These are the two things I have exactly

I have that spiky roller too, kills me everytime. But it hurts so good and I feel so much better after. If you have a high pain threshhold I would get it.

Yeah it’s interesting because I used to have to take deep breaths during the quad and calf roll outs just to survive and now it doesn’t even phase me. It obviously did something helpful !

I honestly really like foam rolling. Some people say is doesn’t really “do much” from a physiological standpoint, but if it makes you feel better (even if it just gets a bit of blood flowing into your muscles), then it does do something. Jim Wendler (5/3/1 guy) advocates it, and I tend to take his words more at face value than anyone else in the fitness industry.

For me personally, I always like the way my back feels when I go up and down the foam roller. I like it okay for my legs, but my back is where I use it frequently.

You don’t need to spend massive amounts of time using one before your work out but they can help with trouble spots.

The first time I ever rolled my IT band it took forever to get from my hip to my knee. I was told to go slow and wait for the knots to release before I moved on. All of the pressure and knots were pushed down to my knee and finally released. It felt amazing! But it was painful getting there.

Now it just takes me a few seconds to go the length of the muscle/tissue and I barely have any knots.

Regular rolling doesn’t take long and goes a long way (compared to never rolling and doing it even you’re desperate).

Thank you all for sharing your personal experiences and advice about foam rollers. From what I read it releases the fascia around the muscle, which, according to my massage therapist would be beneficial to me. I used to get cupping done with my massages, and the release was 1000x better then massage alone. Think I will try it out, even if it hurts at first, it’s gotta be better then the constant tension in my muscles. I think I might start out with a non-knobby roller one though-the one Spock posted looks very painful!

IN OTHER NEWS: After night shift and 4 hours sleep this morning, I killed my interview and got the job, pending my current manager in psych does not give me a bad reference. I am awesome so no worries there!!!

I am currently sipping a coffee trying to wake up, going to try to motivate myself to have a shake and go do some deadlifts!

Happy to hear about the interview! Nice work :facepunch:

I did another foam rolling class today and we did the lats and shoulder hurdle. #@&% that hurt! The good news is that you can control how much pressure you apply so you can start off gingerly and build up to putting everything you’ve got into it.
