Good work Matty. It’s great you can do both high pull and hang cleans without much pain (at least that’s what I’m assuming). Getting this kind of work in you should be able to pick back up pretty close to where you left off pressing once you’ve healed up.

Thanks Dave…I have had to do stuff that I never do in order to get some decent upper body stimulation. When healthy I think I am going to stick with the hang cleans. Now up until recently I have never done a chest fly in like 8 years but may even hold on to them after a heavy pressing session, so there is some silver linings.

I try not to wrap until I am hitting close to my current maxes figure around 95%. I also like to differentiate between raw with wrap max and w/o. FTR that 455 was with wraps, as was the 435 I hit a few weeks ago. the 420 I hit with wraps at a meet and also without wraps at the gym

How do you feel after the pause work?

Love the paused squats, well they are difficult but love the way they improve your regular squat…now Im not reading war and peace like you do with your paused squats but a good 2 count on the bottom I usually do (I just pulled a Yoda)

Was supposed to Pull today…could not get my back warmed up. it just wasnt happening. my lower back is in some discomfort and honestly the pressure its putting on my spine its best that I not force anything at this point.

Wish I was that mediocre, even if I was a guy. Of course I would have to get used to a few more things.

Warming up enough I am definitely not, making the warmup vital I must.
