Saw you were doing flys. Can you hit the pec dec or something like that that bypasses the hands? Just wondering if some machines might let you get some of the pushing muscles around your injury.

Any news on what they are doing long term to fix you up? I’m going to nag…

Yeah man, to hit my chesticles…I can do flys and light floor presses, preferably DB presses. Even with machines the weight has to be on the very light side…

I have decided to get surgery in the beginning of the year…its called ACDF surgery. I wanted to get it done ASAP, but its the busy season at my job…so January I am going under the knife!

Trying to do something about my pitiful sized quads…

Leg Extensions - 4x15
Heel Elevated squat - 135x10 185x10 225x10 275x5 315x5

Chins - about 50 total reps
Svend Press - 3 10lbs plates x 5 x 15

Are you doing front squats? I don’t remember if you are.

Cool, “like reinforced concrete” sounds good. Going in through the throat should give you a cool scar. Seen the first Highlander movie? Do they realize how much neck muscle they need to move? Good you’re getting it done. You’ll be 100% by this time next year.

i like your new avatar. the thought of surgery must be scary,but,it will help you go forward man. how long is the recovery?

GV - Very sporadically, Honestly I hate them, I cant use a clean grip, and when I use the california grip I almost always end up choking myself out (well Almost). I was reading an article about what Cutler does for a “quad sweep” and he recommended it. NOW I AM SURE IN ABOUT A WEEK ARE SOOOO MY WHEELS ARE GOING TO BE HYOOOOGE. I mean its what cutler did!

Cormhona - I watched the surgery on you tube, theres also alot of vids of people explaining the after effects of the surgery, the Sore Throat and trouble swallowing is a big one, I am sure it has something to do with moving all the muscle around to get to the spine.

Confusuion - Thanks. It looks like recovery is 4-6 weeks, which is not that bad all things considered.

Now that you made the decision you can focus all your energy moving forward. 4 to 6 weeks is a drop in the bucket.

Thanks Jack…it really is, and while I would hate to admit it, it will give me a chance to recover fully from all the other nagging aches and pains.

I just love it when the bar crushes my throat. I’m interested in the Cutler method to learn a new method now that you’ve mentioned it. Hope you get the desired quad jumbification.

So does the squat hurt your neck, or are you just powering through it because it is just pain not actual nerves being pinched off so they don’t work? Solid is putting it mildly…
