Matty–You never called me…
Get a neck harness and start doing lots of reps for you neck going all 4 directions - start off every other day and progress to every day. Your c-5-c6 discs are compressing into your spine causing the weakness in your arm. Has your DR. put you on a table lying flat and grab your chin and back of head and tried pulling on your head like sliding a ring off of a pole? This helps to relieve a lot of pressure when applied correctly.
Also get gravity boots and hang upside down. When after doing this for awhile I modified a football helmet added weights and hung upside down.
Some stuff to ponder at least.

Rick I know I still have all intentions of calling you, and am still. No my doc has not done that, I have an appointment this week, unfortunately between the chiro, the neuro, the pain doc and another doc its been getting expensive. I am going to call you, thank you, please do not be offended that I did not call you I plan on calling you this week, I am sorry.

495 hung over is brilliant. Does it cure the hangover? Love the Klokov press. You don’t mind if I’m lifting vicariously through you?
LOL thanks bud, I dont know if it cured the hang over but I will say that the days when you think you will have the shittiest session you end up having a good one…weird.
The Klokov’s seem to allow me to OH press with less weight but hit my medial delts (especially) with more efficacy than light regular OH press, so for now it will be my go to OH press move.
Squat x4 @9RPE worked up to 365x4…felt strong and I was very happy that the first three reps were not squat mornings LOL.
Hack Squat Machine - 2plts x 2 x 15 - Trying to get some size in da quads, Dan Greene said to do them, I will listen

A young kid asked me to spot him on curls in the squat rack today, I asked him if he is new to lifting, he said no, but he was. I told him listen bro I am not trying to be a dick, and no one is waiting for the rack but it is a real dick move to curl in the squat rack or power cage. He took it well, and asked me more questions, it gave me hope. He really just didnt know.

Hey brother looks like things are headed in the right direction. I second what HARA said about getting healed up before going too heavy. 80% for you is still a big number.
^This
You’re at the point now where working 75-80% for some volume is big time work.
Shit Joe, I didnt see you pop in here…thanks brother!

Good to see a young one taking advice but please asking for a spot on curls. I wonder if he needs a spot when he poops.
DLx3 against minis @9 RPE - worked up to 405x3, went to 455 but the first rep up all cock eyed so I did not continue, did not want to push it. ended with 315x10 against minis.
Pendlays x8 @9 RPE - worked up to 275x8 @9 then dropped t0 165x20
Chins - 0x7, 25x5 45x3 0x8 (23, happy these are coming back…slowly but surely)
Cable Flys different angles - 7 x 15
Concept 2 rower - 250 meters x 3 rounds
Damn, I go away for a week and this guy is going all hulk again! Nice work Matty!
And good on you for helping out the little bro. I wouldn’t have the slightest on how to spot on a curl. Seen guys try to do it at the gym, but it always looks really funny to me. It’s just like yo! You just hit failure, nice work!.. now put down the weight since you’re not going to gain anything by someone else pushing your arm up for you.
Really happy to get back here and see your progress bro. You were smart to stop at the 455 when it didn’t feel right. I know your pride wants to push on, but a magnitude of promising days is far more productive than a single day of heavy weight followed by months of recovery. Just curious, are you still getting the tingling sensations?

LOL I dont know about hulking, but im trying! I know there may be some way to spot a curl, but fuck that I say its idiotic. Yeah, the 455 against bands didnt feel heavy I have come to realize its grip right now, because strength in my left arm is still no wear near 100% and grip strength is on par with my 11 year old daughters. I may have to…gasp use straps!
I have full feeling in my pink and index, but the other fingers are numb and the arm still is numb at times, especially when driving.
Been doing the accupuncture and chiro stuff, it seems to be working albeit slowly
I had intentions to do front squats…but I hate front squats, do not have the wrist flexibility to hold the bar oly style, california style the bar always tends to slide down and I end up fucking up my lower back…so I tried zerchers for the first time in a few years…meh
Nice job working around the injuries Matty, I’m not a big fan of front squats for the same reasons as you.
If you have to resort to straps on the deads try some snatch grip deads. You use less weight but in my opinion they have pretty good carryover for conventional deads.
thanks Dave I have done those before and should program them in again I enjoyed them…
Today…
Squat x2 @9 - worked up to 415x2 w wraps @8.5 - funny but the 390 and 405 felt heavier. Very happy about this. because of this injury it has allowed me to put most of my effort towards the squat and it seems to be working.
Hack Squat Machine - 2plt x15 3plt x10
Incline Bench - 135x20 155x15 185x15 225x5 135x20 = SS with chins 3x10
Snatch Grip High Pulls from pins x3 @9 - worked up 245x3 @9
Face Pulls - 95x2x15 120x2x10
Tri Pushdowns - 120 reps total
