Damn Matty, take care of yourself. You’re just a young pup, your body will heal, just be smart.
Just to throw a random thought out there, I’ve been getting random tingling in my left forearm, thumb and index finger recently. I’m only lifting twice a week and not “heavy”. Reading about your stuff with the c4-c6, I’ve been squatting (very) high bar and I have a bump on my spinal neck area from the squats. Wonder if you have the same thing from squatting and whether that has started to affect you over time? Total shot in the dark of course. I know I’m going to be more careful from now on when squatting, maybe front squat for a while and see if the tingling thing stops.
I tend to go pretty low bar when squatting, its the main lift I could do without any interference at this point. I dont feel any discomfort at all when squatting in fact it has been going pretty smoothly. Its seems as DLs will still be able to be in the rotation as well, even though today was pretty shitty I think it was because of vaginosis.
I’m sorry to read you’re experiencing this problem with the c4-c6. I hope you can find a way to be healthy and continue to lift the way you want to. Do you think front squatting would be a good way work around the problem? Could you specialize in front squatting? I’m just reaching out here because only you know what you want and can do. I guess we’re all just hoping you get healthy and stay strong. Stay strong in spirit, always upwards and onwards.
Ouch.^^ Not to be a nag Matty but since you did incur the initial acute injury while back squatting, my very humble non-medical opinion is to front squat until things get better.

Its the only thing I could think of TBH. Because thats when the pain started.
I am really going to have consider Fronts and Zerchers, even though back squats do not bother me.
I’m going to sound like a puss but be careful until you figure out what is going on my friend. Taking a couple of days off isn’t going to set you back at all, no sense risking more serious injury until you know for sure what the issue is.
That is the end of my trying to act like your mom lecture.
You guys are absolutely right, and while I may train one more day on Friday, (Ill see how I feel) its not gonna be anything crazy. After that I am off to the Sanibel Islands for vacation for a week, with no weight lifting…except of course ye olde 16 ounce lift.

Perfect. Vacation is about the only thing that will keep you away from lifting.
