Hope you can regain the spirit and feel better soon. I’m feeling kind of burnt out right now but there’s no rest or stopping I can afford to do with work and lifting is a passion.

I think it has come to the point of a full deload. Its been about 22 weeks (including a meet) and I am physically and mentally beat to shit. I need a re-charge, my lifts have meandered my aches and pains are increasing and mentally Im in a fog. I feel like I am looking like shit too. I am known to sweat alot while training but today I went through 3 shirts. My headaches since the meet hasnt stopped (MRI this Friday open this time).
Basically I am fried. I’m not enjoying anything right now, especially training. [/quote]
I think a deload is all you need Matty. You didn’t take any break coming out of your meet and it is catching up to you.
I know it will kill you as much as you like volume but take the rest of the week entirely off from lifting and start back Monday and I’m guessing most if not all of your issues will be gone.

Good idea Dave. I am actually thinking of taking a full break from RTS next week to totally heal up.
22 weeks (almost 6 months) is a long ass time to push yourself man. I don’t have a fraction of the experience you guys do with lifting, and certainly no real experience with moving heavy weight, so take it for what it’s worth. I was feeling pretty abused after a little over 2 months of training 6 days a week. This weekend, I took 2 days off and lifted light yesterday. Like Dave said with a few days rest, I’m feeling pretty great today and all I’ve been wanting this whole day is to get in my garage and train.
Sorry to hear about the headaches man. Let us now how Friday goes.
Here’s a humorous thought. Take up crossfit for a few days next week. You get to watch girls in small tight shorts and knee high socks bounce around! Whatever the “WOD” calls for, tell the instructors to fuck off you’re injured and that you’re just there to spot the girls! LOL
This times a million wiex! Ha Ha I needed that. Thanks bro.
I actually had an MRI last monday it was a closed one, I didnt last 3 minutes I am claustrophobic and it was a ridiculously tight squeeze.
I’m here for ya buddy!
Ya man, I don’t think they had hulk sized shoulders in mind, when they designed those things. At half your size, I don’t think I’d be comfortable in one, either.
When I had my MRI for my torn bicep they told me if would take 45 minutes. So I’m in the tube for 45 minutes (I’ve got a real good internal clock) and they let me sit in there. Another 10 minutes goes by and I start yelling. Those stupid, incompetent techs thought I’d be passive while they shared a queef. Well what do you know, another ten minutes goes by and I start yelling again. Who do these people think they are? I scooted my ass out of the tube and proceeded to give the exasperated techs ALL HELL for letting me sit in that tube.
The young mid-20’s women techs asked me why I was upset. I am real good at accepting a situation that I know the parameters of and setting my expectations but when I’m taken for granted well it’s me who’s going to start doing the biting. So, I let em’ have it and they gave me some crap about finding peace and God and a bunch of hooey. Never again, only the open kind of MRI for me and the next techs better get it right or I am going to take it as an assault and give more than a few choice words.
The last place I’d want to be is in an enclosed room with an angry GV!

My friend told me a very similar story. They kept on telling him 10 minutes, to the point where he just left. My open MRI is open tomorrow, sort of open they said.
Hope your MRI is easy and goes without any problems.
Spoke with Mike T yesterday and he agreed a deload next week is whats in order. He does want me to finish the squat and bench portion for this week. I also asked that he ease the amount of deads I do, as it seems as if this is the hardest for me to recover from. So instead of twice a week, it will be once.
Comp Bench x5 @9 5% Fatigue
275x5 then dropped to 260x5
Squat +Avg Bands x3 @9 5% Fatigue
Worked up to 315x3@10 then dropped to 300x3@9 - Felt pretty good, but 315 plus avg bands was all I could muster a full 10 RPE
A1 - 1 Arm Tbar Rows - 25x20 50x15 75x3x10
A2 - Z Press - Bar x 20 90x10 135x10 155x10
Done - Stopped myself from doing anymore, I usually keep on going but Im going to try to cut out the volume as it may not be worth it.

Thanks GV, keeping my fingers crossed.
Forgot to mention I trained today without any energy drink, Im gonna try to lay off of it for a while. I have become to reliant on it and I feel my body has built up a resistance. Im not sure I should be taking them anyway.
Ya, I’d recommend it bro. I had to wean myself off of them a while ago. You might feel like your energy is taking a dip at first, but you’ll adjust. I think my body started getting better rest during sleep too, once I stopped drinking them. Just out of curiosity, what were you drinking?
Good luck tomorrow, buddy!
Inzer power pants :
Hope you had a good Fourth.
Wiex - I would use either Redline or Spike, preferably Spike.
Thanks Rick I am going to purchase those, certainly the right price.
Well, I went for the MRI, yesterday but again it was a no-go, it was NOT open, a little bit bigger hole, but again I couldnt do it. STAND UP MRI on Wed…lol, last chance.
