Lifting Commentary Vids 1746 Raw Total @195

Tearing others down to make yourself feel better is much less effective than taking the steps to bring yourself up to a higher level… squats and bench today were a challenge today due to lack of rest and recovery but I just put my head down and fought through it… Main sets were squats: 485x3x5 Bench:315x3x6 Squats R2: 455x4x4

?605 deads for reps after a callous tear earlier this week? why not…

These videos are kick ass, your squats are looking better.

my fiancee has done smolov and it gave her great results

That looked like a pretty aggravating session Ben, and I’m not talking about your lifting.

luckily i go to a great gym and people are all respectful.
But in commercial gyms you get all the spoiled brats with their no explode and mutant mass who’s parents have too much money and subsequently the kids are raised thinking that they fart lavender and sunshine and act that way in the gym.

Cool man. I’m really interested to see your progress with Smolov. Do you have a goal squat weight for the end of the program?

I have some ideas of what I’ like to hit but I am just going to drive forward and not think too far ahead of myself

Smolov, eh? Not many people at your level seem to try that program. But you are a pretty high volume type of guy anyway.

Have you ever tried a “Bulgarian” style of squat training ala AverageBroz?

5-6days/week
work up to a (serious) daily max
drop 20-30kg and ramp up again with doubles and triples, hitting the previous DM or more.

What is your rest between sets for those sets of 10? And what about heavier sets of 3 or 5 you did for sheiko?

I am familiar with the bulgarian method but generally those are done with high bar squats and much less taxing on the cns even at a true max because form tends to breakdown much earlier in the strength threshold

I don’t time my rests unless I am short on time, I just go when I feel ready and that varies session to session
