Lever Powerlifting Belt

Hey folks, since i plan on powerlifting the rest of the year i’m looking for a powerlifting belt. I have a cheaper weightliftiing belt its not up to the task of the loads i will be using the next 6 months.

Has anyone ever seen and/or used a lever belt like this?

Its uses a lever to lock the belt down instead of the standard pongs and holes.

I bought one from Inzer and it works great. www.inzernet.com

I have some teammates that use them, they work fine.

I plan on getting one soon, in fact.

Lever belts are great for consistency and tightness. The drawback is they are a pain to adjust. If you want a different setting you have to undo two screws, move the buckle and screw it back down…Which worries some who like a different setting for squat, bench and dead.

I have the Inzer and like it very much, my wife has the Titan, and it is just as good. Both companies have distributors in Canada: PM me and I can send you the links.

I think it is a requirement that you be 400lbs and not be able to tighten a regular single prong belt. I am mesing but seriously can’t you see super heavy’s getting this and cranking the shit out of it, may as well take a 3/4 inch leather belt and a come along.

I don’t know what your maxes are but some pretty strong guys I lift with, talked me out of one saying that they have seen alot of people bruise ribs with when they get to squatting heavy weight. The extra layer the belt makes with the lever system causes this to happen. I personally bought a 10 mm Inzer single prong and love it. Happy Shopping

Bruised ribs means you’re a man.

I have not used a belt in well over 10 years and have thought about getting a lever belt. Why a single prong over a 2 prong? Just beacuse it is easier to use?

The lever belts are interesting.

Damn! the Inzer PR Belt is really cool. $140 seems to be pretty reasonable for an infinitely adjustable belt.

I have a leaver belt and it can be a pain to adjust but I’ve had mine for about a year and a half and have put on some weight in that time and haven’t had to adjust it yet. The thing that is really nice about it is you can really cinch it down. I’ve had no problems with the bruising of ribs though.

Just ordered the new Inzer PR Belt. $149 including shipping.

I will post my insightful impressions after using it for a bit.

I have a lever belt and love it, it goes on and off so easy. The other benefit is if people you don’t like ask to borrow it, you can, “Sorry, it won’t fit you” and move on. It is especially nice when you have a suit and/or wraps on because it is hard to move around and you don’t want to waist any time by struggling with a prong belt, so the lever definitely goes on and off faster.

Just my .02 cents

They’re OK for squat/dead and general purpose. But on bench (assuming you use a shirt), they really shine. Just put on your shirt and belt (not latched, just on). After your shirt is jacked down and in position, pop the latch and you locked in. Much easier that with a regular prong belt.
