I have missed 4 months of working out, (This hasn’t Happened in 10 yrs) due to traveling World Wide. Should I start dieting to lose the fat I put on, or regain my strength and start back a little slower as oppossed to a hard core diet to lose fat.
Tell where you are now. Height, weight, bodyfat…
How fat are you? What are your goals? What was your previous training/diet before you quit working out? etc?
Currently I’m 5’8" 210 14%BF, before I was 197lbs 8%BF. My strength is down about 40%.
I used the beverly intl methods to get me lean.
I’ve had this happen a few times, although not over the period of a month - I think my longest is 10 weeks due to appendectomy. I’d go with getting back in slow and try to get back your strength and muscle first… the fat will come off easier then, and you’ll probably feel a hell of alot better when you see your lifts coming back. It may not be the fastest way to lose the fat, but I believe it’s the best way to get your strength back, lose the fat again, and keep your sanity.
I’ve been going with that advice steve, I’m getting my lifts back and just having fun working out. Its hard looking in the mirror and seeing the fat, I’m not that fat its just before I was in the best shape of my life. I did not quite working out I just was in a position where no gym were around, many small places in europe
