anyways, I would deadlift until you start squatting again. If you can’t do that, try reverse hypers or glute/ham raises.

Here’s a real quote of mine.
I still recomend the same thing.

Yes, for those interested in training advice, i have miles of post on tips and exercises and how to do them. Just read my posts. Judge for yourself.
If your looking for the comedy central, read zaps posts.
by the way, a good exercise for you to try is a “pistol”, until you can use weight again.

You said:
"4 sets of 10 at 220
what kind or weights are you using?
olympic? the bar and 4 45lb plates is 225
and are those ATG(ass to grass) squats?
at 145 you need to hit 6’s or triples."
Since you are talking about olympic plates you clearly meant 6 plates or 315 pounds.
The kid is asking what he can do instead of squatting until his shoulder get better and you tell himn to squat more weight!!
The fact you get PM’s from kids about training scares the hell out of me.
You are clearly not qualified to hand out advice.
You lie about your personal stats.
You say you built your chest solely with push ups and how benching is inferior then you talk about your bench work outs.
You claim you train in a desert and you live in PA.
When you stole your little anecdote in your puking thread you didn’t have the decency to remove the part about training in the desert.
I am calling you out because I do not want your bad advice to harm some new kid that comes here and actually listens to you.

Bad Call
Let’s destroy your intellect and your statement.
1- “assumption is the mother of all fuck ups” 6’s and triples are referring to reps…maybe if you actualy lifted, you would know these terms.
2- who are you to judge who is qualified to give advice?
3- Yes benching is inferior, and i built my chest “size” through push ups, benching is nothing more than a strength exercise for me. I got more size from a couple years of push ups than several years of benching.
4- I do live in PA, and I’ve never claimed to live in a desert. I said i was “benching in the desert” , refering to how dry my mouth was from throwing up and not drinking any water. Learn to read and not take things so literaly or out of context.
5- What anecdote are you refering to, and what did i steal? Once again you make no sense.
6- your a complete moron and you need to get off of the internet. get a job.
I have to go back to work, i’m on my lunch break.
Wow, idiocy at its finest. Stay tuned fellas, the slimeslinger shall return with another flame.
[quote]Mr. Push Ups wrote:

try 8x3 for strength
6x6 for strength + hypertrophy
at 145lbs, you might wanna try dropping those reps. I weigh 175-200 depending on my bulking/cutting cycle and I’m still on 6’s, I think anything over 6 reps is a waste for a newbie
I know Chad Waterbury has a rep volume he keeps people in for max strength, hypertrophy, cutting…etc

English Comp 101
Take that class ZAP!
Anybody who doesn’t understand that 6’s & triples are reps, is an idiot. Look at all those quotes.
You’re a flamer, admit it.

First learn to use the English language so people can understand what you are trying to say.
Why tell him how many reps he has to do of an exercise he cannot do because he is injured?
You told him he has to do sets of 6 or 3? Why not sets of 5?
At 16 years old and 145 pounds he sounds like a beginner yet you want him to do triples? Is he ready for them? You should find out before you make recommendations. It is often best for newbies to stick in the 8 - 10 rep range until their connecteive tissue can handle the real heavy low rep stuff.
An intelligent human being with a woking bullshit detector.
You are clueless aren’t you? Do you actually believe size and strength are not related?
Again learn to use the English language.
Your little anecdote about training in the desert. I assumed you stole it because you don’t live in a desert.
I didn’t realize you were talking about how dry your mouth feels when you puke.
Excuse me for not understanding your rambling.
The proper contraction of you are is you’re.
The fact you try to paint me as a moron yet you cannot get through one sentence without butchering the English language makes me smile.
Yippee!
Don’t flatter yourself. Your idiocy is low grade.

So far you have posted a bunch of apparently phony stats about yourself and thrown up a haphazard list of exercises without discussing how to work them into a program.
Your half assed posts would provide more harm than good to a newbie.
I suggest you let the people that know what the are doing provide good advice.
You might learn something.
Anyway, I would start squatting with low weight or even an empty bar. Just to check how that shoulder holds out. Now squatting shouldn’t put any pressure on the shoulder but after surgery you might have reduced flexibilty in it and that might make it harder to grab the bar.
Hell, my shoulder was so stiff once, that I decided to squat in the smith machine and hold the bar with only 1 hand. :-/
Are you guys starting to notice how Mr. Pushups sounds an awful lot like DieselWeasel?
Na…I wouldn’t even give him that much credit. As bad as they were, at least DW backed up his claims with photos or videos.
