I broke my leg straight upward and can’t run, I can walk but not for long distances . I also had reconstruction surgery on my hand due to a work injury. so lifting heavy weights is out. I want to get back in shape . I’m 44 and about 30 pounds over weight . I am changing my diet but would like to get more exercise in but walking isn’t cutting it. I don’t know what to do ! Thank you for your help
Swimming?
Irishman92 is right. Swimming would be one of the most appropriate exercises for you. Also, you can do lower extremity exercises in a sitting position and without weights. You can do flexion/extension of your knees while sitting. This will maintain the tone of your hip and thigh muscles. And if you can, try doing squats.
That’s a good idea, i have thought of biking as well.
