Left, Right, No In Between

I’d like to catch up on the thread. Regarding laziness amongst young Americans, I think there are a few factors causing this. I believe one of them is what seems be a trend of cognitive dissonance amongst boomers and even some Gen Xers, who being out of touch, like to dump on millenials. Few things can sap a person’s motivation more than feeling no one cares about him and on top of it insults him. If someone were to dump on me long enough, I’d say, “OK, you don’t like me? I’m worthless? All I studied is worthless? OK, here’s my shovel. I ain’t workin’ no more.”

@Beyond_Beyond @chris_ottawa @NickViar it seems Western countries, their media in particular, like to dump on and humiliate their own people. What do you think? Do you think it leads to decreased motivation? I think. As we discussed before, finding a suitable mate and family formation have become so difficult impossible for some men that they find no need to work hard. They check out (Eg, Mgtow).

Conservative.

Because the least educated love authoritarianism; it’s all they know.

I agree, but is it limited to the west?

Maybe to some degree. Depends how much you as an individual are influenced by the media.

Is Joe Biden trying to be the Democrat version of Trump? I don’t remember politicians acting like this in the past.

“You’re full of s—,” Biden told the man…
later called the unidentified worker a “horse’s ass.”

The flashes of temper are a double-edged sword for Biden because some supporters like his authenticity while his opponents use them to question his mental fitness. (just like Trump) Some weeks ago, he called a woman “a lying dog-faced pony soldier”

@H_factor - What do you make of this?

Yep. It’s amazing that on a site where I’d imagine most, when told by some out-of-shape guy that he used to be just like them(this site’s reader), would roll their eyes or need some proof, this isn’t more obvious.

I agree. I think it has something to do with this: Socolive TV Trực Tiếp Bóng Đá HD - Kênh Socolive chính thức
That’s a concept I first learned about on this message board. I’d never heard about it before, most likely because, as I once explained in a job interview when asked about working with minorities, I had always played sports dominated by minorities in a city and schools in which that goes double(I explained that I had grown up AS a minority).

Authoritarian: favoring or enforcing strict obedience to authority, especially that of the government, at the expense of personal freedom.

Sorry. I don’t see how Trump is any more authoritarian than any other President in recent times. He seems less so, in fact.

WTF is an AR14(:50-:52), Joe?

He is authoritarian in that he will try to destroy any politician (usually with false claims) that stands up to him (even in his own party). He uses propaganda techniques. He operates without data, and when questioned it is because he has a scientist in the family or some other BS.

Isn’t it possible to be authoritarian without any of that?

Yes.

Adding to my list. Another authoritarian thing he has done is investigate political rivals (Biden family) using tax payer money as leverage with a foreign country.

He’s into winning.

Alright, so he’s no more authoritarian than any other recent U.S. President. Glad we got that straightened out.

Authoritarian: Enacting a military draft. Establishing an income tax and/or raising it. Telling private citizens/businesses with whom they must do business.

For the last couple of decades the media has been about making the news rather than reporting what is actually going on. It thrives on drama. It wasn’t always like this, but this seems to be increasingly worse.
Can this lead to decreased motivation? I think it does contribute, but its just one factor.
I feel sorry for younger people today, they don’t have the same opportunities that the Boomers had. Boomers could just turn up and apply for a respectable, lifetime job and they would probably get it. If the didn’t have the qualifications, and the job wasn’t a profession, they would get on the job training. Most of those jobs in middle management, or manufacturing don’t exist anymore, replaced by technology. You already need experience to get a foot in the door. This leads to unpaid internships and potential exploitation.
Getting into the housing market is more difficult(at least in Australia, Canada, and the UK, not sure about the USA). More competition due to immigration, and foreign investors buying housing.
Kids are told they need tertiary or post graduate qualifications to have any chance of getting a decent job. This leads to more personal debt, from educational expenses. Hey we do have the best overqualified baristas on the planet.

If men don’t think they have an place in their society, they either lose motivation or start to cause trouble for everyone else. Women are told they need to go against their biological urge to reproduce until they are in a stable place in their life. Many women find out they prioritize work over children and miss out.
This is not to say that many still don’t live the life they are told they should have by our governments, just that less people are able to do so than in the past. Unfortunately the people that achieve this goal are usually oblivious to those finding it difficult around them and assume everyone is doing well like them.

The left is great at destroying businesses and people that dare to not agree with their psychotic ideology.

Those 2 white girls in the NW; iirc, had to close their burrito shop because the SJW loons accused them of that cultural appropriation bullshit. The list goes on.

I’m not a fan obviously. The ability of a President to remain collected is important. And Biden has a history of losing that control from time to time. It could even be an attack spot on him if Republicans were running a human.

Fortunately for him all his weak points are nothing compared to his opposition. Worrying about Biden here would be like thinking it’s a big deal one of your kids has a C while the other one is failing all classes and three grades behind.

Do you think maybe he’s trying to appeal to Trump voters? Or is this just the new direction of US politics?

Absolutely. He wants the union vote. As a rich kid that did rich kid things(law school), he certainly deserves it given the way he talks to lowly workers.

Neither to an extent. Biden’s been in the game a while and has had this “issue” for a bit.

But the new direction is possible. When you let someone like Trump be President you’ve essentially said we don’t care what our world leader acts like. Asshole, troll, conspiracy theorist, whatever terms you want to use we’ve essentially said we are ok with having our most powerful politician be this way. And not be this way when no ones looking. Be this way on a daily basis in front of the world.

I’m hopeful that we will correct ourselves and that we don’t truly want to go back and forth between the two parties picking their leader off who can be the biggest asshole. I guess we will see.
