310kg for quiet a few reps?
Nice vid man, for a home system that doesnt look too bad. Although I might point out its not actually the same as squatting 310kg with a BB due to the leverage and the modded BB attachment…its still freekin ridikulous!
Those reps were pretty quiet, he didn’t make much noise at all.
lol
I had to do it!
I wondered why he wasn’t going deeper then I realized that how that machine is made limits your range of motion…that thing is a total piece of shit from the looks of it.
I saw that piece of equipment at Dick’s. It is pretty cool.
The angle looks a bit weird, almost like a hack squat.
I’d put that chick up there stradling his face instead of that BB. Lets see him squat that! it would be comical.
I got a buddy with something similar to that. works ok for the avaerage guy looking to “tone up” I guess. Better than nothing right?
nice 1/4 rep squats
Actually, I found this quite interesting. It has nothing to do with squats, but its lee priests take on lifestyle.
hes right. i remember that strongman guy(not his name tho), he was like 300 lbs, 28 years old, looked healthy to boot. At the WSM comp like 4 years ago, hes fuckin deadlifting 800+lbs on a cart for reps(added kegs). heart attack at 28 yrs old.
yet in the news the other day, this guy in france was like 120 years old, when asked what his secret to life was… he says “fine whiskey and wild wild women”
the Mike Tyson tattoo…reallyy??

I would agree with everything he said in that video…but I would have to disagree if he’d added “…and get a tattoo on your face.”

Wrong. Not a piece of shit at all. And it doesn’t limit your ROM either. It’s adjustable. He just had it on the high setting.
It’s true that it’s not a “true” squat, and your poundages will not carry over, but the weight you put on it is true weight throughout the ROM… PLUS 25 lbs for the leverage arm.
I own that same machine, and it’s great because you get the benefit of squats even if you have lower back issues (which is why I bought it).
EDIT to add: The manufacturer of that machine claims it has a 500 lb limit, but if Lee used 310 kilos, then it obviously holds more. lol

I stand corrected then. But if you watch i believe they have it anchored to something somewhere otherwise I think it would be coming off the ground which is my guess to why it has a “500lb” limit

Depending on the location of the weight, the load actually on the shoulder is not what is loaded on the machine. Weight that is forward of the shoulders will be partially loaded on the pivot (this certainly includes the weight they custom added to this machine). In addition the load is on the shoulders is actually going to vary slightly throughout the ROM because the horizontal distance from the pivot is changing.

Yeah if you look closer it was adjustable safety bar/catches that were just set kind of high. Looks pretty similar to doing a front v-squat - which I love. I kept my 24 hr fitness membership just so I could train legs there for the v-squat machine.
