The marinade is very simple- soy sauce with whatever you want (mainly ginger + some sort of acid to break the meat down(orange juice or coke both work well) + whatever spices you want to add in + good quality beef.
U probably spent a lot of time sub 6 RPE, fast bar speed, relatively low %1RM etc. so it’s hard to gauge proximity to failure. I’ve run into the same issues when running lots of that kind of programming. Hard to gauge where u are at and also nil practice lifting slow.
Well yeah, 5/3/1 is lots of submaximal work. Not really familiar with training in singles or doubles range
Plus my current TMs are based off of getting back to lifting just two weeks in after a 3 month break, so they might be a little low. Then again, lower TM is usually better for 5/3/1
I know I’m going out on a bit of a stretch here, but bear with me
I’d really like to squat 3 plates even just for a single before I leave sometime mid March (because I’m not so sure when I’ll be able to hit the gym again when I go abroad). Would really love to do it “just because.”
Heaviest squat I’ve done was 110kg x 4 in August, took a 3 month break, then just returned for 2 months lifting now. The latest squats I’ve done are 90kg x 10 and 95kg x 8.
I was recently able to pull 3 plates sumo out of no where which is giving me some (false) hope. I knew I could pull 110kg to 120kg sumo for a couple of reps so that day I just decided to add in 10kg and 5kg increments up to 140kg. Video is a few posts above.
You guys think it’s possible? And how should I pursue it, if it is.
I’m not so hell bent on doing it. Just one of those “it would really be nice” things if I were able to pull it off.
