Explosive.
Kick Ass
BIG POPPA
Oww…couldn’t you wipe out your knees doing that? Especially if you’re not explosive enough and fall back onto your knees.

Louie Simmons says lots of russkies and so forth think they are the shit for developing explosive power, along with jump training (depth jumps, broad jumps, etc if you dont know)
I couldn’t even do a single kneeling jump with my bodyweight. Cool.
I did my first kneeling jump with my bodyweight 2 night ago. Both of my knees popped but they often pop.
These look cool but are probably dangerous as hell. I value my knee health too much to try them.
Damn. I just tried these in my living room without weight – couldn’t even do one!

He also says that they do cleans and snatches from the same position.

That’s why these are recommended for advanced level lifters with a solid base of strength. If I tried those, my kneecaps would fly off and put holes in the wall.
My gawd, I love this exercise. I personally think it’s really fun. Can this substitute a power clean in a training routine?
I’ve been doing those for quite some time, since 8th grade. I am able to do them with my hands on top of my head. I will have to start using the bar and see if I can use resistance.
