This is what I’ve gathered:
Knee wraps=more poundage
Knee sleeves=knee health
Is this right?

This is more or less correct in my opinion. I don’t believe that knee sleeves are absolutely necessary for knee health though. Your SQ technique and prior injury history have alot more to do with that. For those that have arthritis, tendonitis, or similar conditions the warmth from the sleeve may keep the knees healthier. For those that have healthy knees and decent SQ technique I don’t know that knee sleeves will keep them any healthier.

When I’m training raw, I use Rehband knee sleeves. They keep the joint warm. It may be more of an issue as you age. I’m 45 and my knees feel volume squatting the next day rather than heavy squatting. Like the above poster said, if you don’t have any issues, I wouldn’t worry about it.
I was just wanted to make sure I have it right. I was thinking maybe some knee sleeves when I work out will help with that dull achyness my knees sometimes experience after squatting or pulling heavy the day after. It’s just that sometimes standing for several hours like at my job the day after can aggravate it a bit and then the time it takes for the achyness to go away is extended.
Wow Storm the Beach. I would like to see you tell how stupid it is to wear knee sleeves to the World’s Strongest Man competitors.
beef
I think decent sleeves will give you something relatively insignificant like 5lbs maybe slightly more if your knees are really what compromises your squat and for me at least my bad knee hurts a hell of a lot less when i wear them.
I’ve never worn wraps but I know guys who get 40-60lbs out of them some how
what about the elite fts super heavy sleeves, anyone use them. I have a pair but havnt used them yet but they are super think and stiff
These knee sleeves are extremely thick and will give you some great support - not quite like a knee wrap but something very close. These are quite thick so they are harder to get on, especially for people who possess more cow than calf.

I would tell them being strong is stupid.

Lol. Duuude, you have a great sense of humor. It just takes a while to get.
the only Sleeves i use are elbow sleeves and thats once in awhile when i get the occasional elbow pain from heavy benching. knee sleeves are for Personal Trainers and other fags in the World of Fitness, not powerlifters.

Speak for yourself. Maybe I’m a fag powerlifter. Things could be worse.

ur sooo tuffff… do you wear full tap out gear to the gym aswell?
You wear elbow sleeves due to pain from heavy benching but not knee sleeves due to pain from heavy squating? or do you squat?
I use them lots in training to protect my knee… they get hammered every single workout i do since im a strongman and theres very little we dont do that doesnt involve our knees.
Damn sorry for insulting you guys so bad. But yeah i do wear tap out shirts, hats, shorts. And Yeah I Do Wear Sunglasses (silver and black oakleys) while I lift. And Yeah I Do Grunt so loud when im doing calf raises that everyone in the gym can hear me. AND YEAH I DO SQUATS ON THE SMITH MACHINE WITH 680LBS WHICH MAKES MY MAX 782 BUT I ONLY GO DOWN ABOUT 3 INCHES. DONT HATE ON YA BOI I KNOW I COULD GO LOWER OR PARALLEL. CheA!!!
Personally, I get more support out of my Affliction t-shirts.
My real answer to the OP… they both increase poundage and they are both for knee health. Anyone who tells you different either A) has never used both in competition B) has never lifted anything heavy before or C) has some personal agenda against gear or no gear.
I use both in training, usually more knee sleeves than knee wraps because I am too lazy to wrap up between sets, but knee wraps are just like any other peice of equipment: if you dont know how to use them, they arent going to help you.

The first step is admitting it, O.
Interesting conversation since I’m debating about getting sleeves. Never worn 'em before.
yea in all seriousness ive used both lol but i do prefer knee wraps cause i have more breathing room. my legs start to sweat alot when i put on the sleeves cause they trap all that heat in there
Are knee sleeves allowed in most raw competitions? I just want something to make the dull achiness go away after heavy squats.

I highly recommend them. I don’t like wraps and only use them when I go straps up because they’re a pain in my rectum. Since I do a lot of training straps down, knee sleeves provide the warmth and feeling of support and compression that I like but they’re also good for a lot of raw volume.
