Nice work, Kevin. Congratz on the new little one…oh and the 425x2. He is a real cutie! Even has the Dr. Evil look down already.
That’s one of the things I love about working in a hospital, getting to see the newborns. And x2 on what Wilson said. Midninght feedings are bonding time…just you and the little one, while the rest of the world is shutdown.
Awww, time is going to go by so fast…like the other fellas said, cherish every moment! even the middle of the night ones…
and way to stick to the training…and PS…let your wife nap when needed! Im sure you are taking good care of her though ![]()
Little guy is wearing me out.
I’m going to train tomorrow, at least people can tell he is ours with the black onsies.
Tooooo, cute!
Sweet little fella.
Dads going to have him start doing little chin ups on the lap within weeks I’ll bet.
It’s amazing how strong an infants grip is. Never too soon to start developing grip strength and balance!
I’m kidding - You are blessed KMC.
Little tip:
My wife massaged my son every 1-2 days. Just a little bit of light oil and manipulate the arms and legs, front and back of the torso. The stimulation to their skin gets the brain/body connection going and really speeds up development of motor skills. He also put on weight like a madman due to all the touching. For some reason robustness and amount physical contact seem to be highly correlated. I credit those massages with him attempting and succeeding at walking at 8 months and being at or above 95 percentile for body length, weight and motor skills for his age.
damn dude, quit making the baby cry.
my son has a mixture of ‘what gradmas and aunts buy me’ and ‘what daddy buys me’. Daddy’s purchases, and his friends, are usually black. Personally I have been a fan of the basic black T for many years. Only occasionally do I wear one with any logo, band name, gym name, etc.
Looks like you might not have this issue, but chest hair should be groomed/shaved when you have an infant. Nothing like being in line at the grocery store and the mini-me takes me out with a fist full of nipple fur.
Rub whiskey on his gums when he starts teething and take a big swig for yourself as well. (Just kidding about the gum thing not the about the big swig)
This week conveniently is a deload.
when I get to sleep Ill train again, I’m no Sasquatch but I do have a black dead poodle on my chest.
my parents rubbed my gums with whiskey, and I turned out, well, don’t do that.
i’m rubbing my gums with whiskey now…
That is one good looking little fella. Rowan, too. Love the name. Take him to the pool with you soon as you can. Use to swim with mine on my back or stomach when they were only a couple months old. Lots of studies on how swimming and crawling are so much alike. Good going on getting the workouts in. Enjoy this time.
Thanks people, Harry everyone seems to like the name!!!
we feel very blessed that he is healthy happy etc, and yes we are in love with him here.
I already checked with the YMCA and the pediatrician, they sadly say 6 months with immunization before he can swim.
embrace the deload, sleep, enjoy this time, and take the clippers to the poodle.
busy busy busy with new baby and a long work week
even when not too tired to train…
was working on Emeril Lagasse’s new show.

Tate wrote an article suggesting something similar
I think I benched more than 260 but not in the last few years.
need to get the tris allot stronger.

high rep crap felt good
OH barbell shrugs feel ok but prob are not good for my neck.

shit training tonight.
my hands where too raw from work - read tired, to perform this is the first time my grip felt like ass in a long long time.
wow.
usually I am dbl overhand almost up to anything below 405.
still stiff from yesterday’s training and work
squat jumps fun as hell
pulling - not so great 350x4 felt heavy was supposed to do 445 for a single chilled with 425 for 3 little singles instead.
db side bends - I never get the point by the time I can load them to feel something its kind of silly.
the ‘heel touches’ are off a 8 inch box and basically its a tiny single leg squat where you touch your heel to the ground - its a great way to see how your knee tracks badly…
anyway managed to pull halfway decent .
the week or so layoff , and training yesterday seems to have done more harm then the no sleep thing.
go figure.
Way to keep up the training. Before you know it the little guy will be sleeping through the night and your wife will be pregnant again with twins.
