Threw these in on my “free day” saturday sessions. I only messed with 95lbs for sets of 3, but even that was quite heavy.
Going to be incorporating them more and more at the behest of guys like Jamie and Paul (Lift, Run, Bang and Chaos&Pain respectively, who have been leading the charge to make these popular)
These just feel awesome. Zero pain too. 110 x 3 is all I’ve done so far but I will be keeping these in for some time. Also inspired purely by Chaos & Pain/that video.

Won’t you run into the same shoulder issues as with any behind-the-neck press? I’ve seen a lot of cautions against doing something like that.
But impressive nevertheless.[/quote]
Personally, I can BTN press without any problems. So it’s definitely possible to do so if you get enough mobility.
Even so, the wider grip on a Klokov press makes it not so sketchy since your shoulders start with your arms higher. Kinda pull your shoulder blades together, externally rotate, and you’ll be fine.
But from the posts in this thread I’ve gathered they are wide grip behind the neck presses?

The “official” term for them would be “Snatch Grip Behind The Neck Strict Press” if you used all of the technical cue’s in the name. The combo of the snatch grip and the lack of leg drive make them a beast.
Tried these last night. The start of the press is easily the hardest part, once I got the bar moving, it wasn’t so bad. I made sure I hit a dead stop on my traps after each rep. Did 115 for 3, tried 135, and couldn’t move it. OHP for me is max 195. I’m guessing my max on this is around 125, so that’d be 65ish%. Great movement, definitely a weak position for me. I also did 5x10 of these at 65lbs, hoping this will contribute to better flexibility.
Did volume with it yesterday after benching. Used 95, 115, 125, and 145 and just went back and forth with those weights. Probably did 12 sets total… maybe more. It’s a great exercise.

what do you feel is the main benefit? mobility, local fatigue or both? I will try them tomorrow, just wondering why people are so positive on them.
