What’s really funny is that Gabin’s purse was $1, not $1000 as originally reported. MMAJunkie contacted FSAC and verified that $1 is indeed the correct number.

I know the NSAC and CSAC require the promoters to bear the burden of medical insurance and post-fight medical treatment. I suspect this is also true of the other state commissions.

The real problem is with unsanctioned shows. Many of the unsanctioned shows are run by reputable promoters who take care of their athletes, but there are also a ton of shady bastards who take the gate money and run, leaving the fighters high and dry in regards to post-fight medical costs.
