Ummm…That is not a bruise, that is the excess blood pooling. You need to start foam rolling the area, and start to slowly stretch (after being warmed up) or this will continue happening to you.
Foam rolling is going to hurt: I would take some ibuprofin, sit in a hottub/whirlpool while slowly strecthing my hamstrings and hips. Then I would foam roll alot and then foam roll some more-repeat daily.
BTW a level 1-2 strain takes upwards of 3 months to heal. Quit sqauting already and do your rehab.
hope this helps ( I fucked both hammies more times than I care to count before I did preventive work)
Wow. Shit, I thought it was just bruising, now Im scared abit, haha. I ice it alot, but have not foam rolled it, never thought about that. Thanks for the advice. I did not realize at all, that this is what it was.
Not being able to squat means no deadlifts either … now I have to find a pure bench program, as I cannot just do nothing.
That’s some serious bruising. Surprised they weren’t more concerned about the source of the blood. Something musta been torn up pretty good to bleed like that. Hoping that gets better for you, that was some nice training you had going on.

Thanks. As I said , the doctors never bothered to look at it at all. They just gave me anti-inflammatory pills.
Yesterday I could not sit still so I did a small workout…
chin-ups 5x(42)
Conv Rack Pulls (3rdhole) 495x6x3 (80%) --not much if at all any stress on my hamstring or so i felt.
Pyramid Bench 185x5 225x2x5 275x2x4 315x2x3 275x2x5 225x2x7 185x10
Face Pulls 3x10

Ya know, doctors amaze me sometimes. One of my co-workers nephews works in the oil industry (not rigs) here in OK. He had a 2200# plunger drop onto his foot. Crushed his steel-toed boot flat. Once they cut it off and x-rayed, they determined that his toes were, in their words, “powder”. The doctor tried to send him home with antibiotics and painkillers.
The nurse, God love her, disregarded the doctor’s instructions and called for another doctor. This one came in, looked at the x-rays, told her to restart the IV, called an orthopedic surgeon (who was in a surgery) and told him he was sending this kid over and be ready to go from his current surgery and straight into another one.
How that 1st doc is practicing medicine I will never understand.

I’m sorry, but some Docs. are just plain ignorant and/or they do not care about patients, maybe too much stress. I suppose its easier to give someone meds and send them on their way. At least this is what I have experienced and it appears your co-worker almost went thru.

Jeeze, that is a nasty ubur bruise. Good work in here, I hope it gets better without further incident.
Thank you sir. I am trying not to put too much pressure on it, however my ignorance is making me workout still–when I probably should not.
seated rows 10x5
Anderson Squats (9th hole) 495x3x3 585x2x3
Speed Bench (50%) 190x9x3
Anderson Squats (8th hole) (60%) 365x3x4
I felt no twitches in my groin/hammstring area. The 8th hole was very very close to parallel, if not. I will ice, like I have been doing the hammie though, just to be sure.
Bench Press (80%) 295x5x3
Anderson Speed Squats (9th hole) 415x5x3 495x12 feeling no pain in the groin, all bruising has gone.
2 Board Bench 325x4x4
dmb flyes 2x25
tri-ext 5x8
Ill go back to regular squats next go around , i think.
You did 495 x 12 at close to parallel? Damn
Thanks. I was a few inches from parallel, so I do not count it as a big thing. However I left lots in the tank, as I felt I had at least 8 more reps in me. My full squat right now has suffered due to the layoff. We shall see how it goes.
I suck at conv. pulling, it’s very hard for me. So since my injury, I’ve done them as rack pulls. The sumo ones felt nice and easy, and no pain in the groin. 2 more weeks then I’ll try lifting normal again, squat & dead wise.
Full Power Squat 335x3x2 355x3x1
Speed Bench 190x9x3
Anderson Squat (7th hole) 225x2x4 275x2x2
I did not want to test my groin yet, but all the cages were being used. So I decided to go for it. The 335 was very slow outta the hole (but it was very deep) and no pain. I moved to the 355 to get some more reps in, 1, ha! Felt good, but like I said very slow outta the hole.
I finally had a cage open so I went below parallel (super hard to bend under the bar and get set), and just raised the bar as fast as I could. The 275 moved quickly. Overall Im happy that it looks like my groin is fully healed, though my legs are stiff today.
