Haha I’m loving the beard!
Increasing volume the now to just get the most out of the surplus calories, when I hit 210-220lbs and I’m a blob I will start HIT cardio on one rest day and increase as necessary, don’t want to mess with calories.
Back tonight!
Mine’s 39 - I win?
Fucking lol @ the Commando ref
7/1/2014 Back

8/2/2014 Bench and Chest
Good day overall, ok PR with 107.5k. Used laptop to film and for music cause phone had no battery, hence the weird perspective.
Bench
92.5k x 5 reps
100k x 5 reps
107.5k x 6 reps (PR) - perspective makes it look like the 2.5k and 1.25k’s arent there, but they are.
Incline Bench
70k x 8 reps x 4 sets
Partner Resisted Flies S/S Ring Pushups
10k’s x 10 reps S/S Bodyweight x failure x 4 sets
You’ve got a good bench Rattle, pretty textbook
So about that 200kg deadlift…

Did you get it or not, I’m confused with your log post?
I will be doing it at the end of my cycle, no point maxing out every week.
I did, although I’ve got to say, you did an awesome job catching up, I seem to remember when I broke 4 plates you were somewhere around 160/170.
And yeah, I’ve been a bit silly with maxing out randomly recently.

Cheeeers.
Been lucky if anything tbh. I’m not even using percentages anymore for my sets, I just pick weights that would be a 5+, 3+ or 1+ PR final set each week.

It ain’t luck if it happens repeatedly. Yeah, was gonna ask how you’re setting your training up now. Doesn’t really seem like 5/3/1 anymore, or am I off?

It’s just basically how 5/3/1 has evolved for me personally.
When I first started it years ago I stuck to to the recommendations to a T but grew tired of using such minimal weights and getting 10+ reps on 5/5/5 week so I just decided to try and hit a lower reps PR each week.
No consideration of % cause it just bores me tbh, just look at what weights & reps I want to PR with at the top set of each week and pick suitable stepping stone weights.
Only variation to that is dead where I’m totally all over the place on lol. I do a deload on the 5/5/5 week, go for a 5 rep PR on the 3/3/3 week and then a 3 rep PR on the 5/3/1 week.
That approach sounds like it makes a ton of sense once you have a decent idea of what kinda weights you should be working with each week.
When did you last front squat? I remember you used to do it as your main squat move, what prompted the switch?
