Congratulations on a great 2013 and good luck with your 2014 goals! I have full confidence you’ll hit them all.
Thanks man, I can’t wait to get my strength goals reached so I can hurry up and do one of Arnold’s stupid high volume programs lol.
I actually like that idea… the hit strength goals so I can do other stuff part. Might do something similar myself.
I view the ‘decent’ strength goals of 3/4/5 plates for bench, squat and dead as just ticking the box for strength foundation and the justification I need to just train like Frank Zane the rest of my life lol…
Just went to some parties with the bird for the bells really, I missed chewin the fat :(.
I seriously have no idea what any of this means. lol
Anyways, strength goals look good. I’m a bit behind you in strength, but if you ever wanna do a friendly competition on some of the bigger lifts, let me know! Figured it would be a good match-up, our builds and stats being similar.
Good luck with all of your goals for 2014, I’ve got no doubt that you’ll hit those! I think that’s a really good idea to get that strength foundation built; I regret not being focused on strength sooner myself

Someone challenging Rattlehead to a race, and its not me?!?!
As always, race you to everything (except the bodyweight, that’s a bit one sided), and happy new year

Bird means girlfriend or wive etc, bells is just the term used for turning midnight on new year eve and chewing the fat is a tv show but also means to make shite small chat.
Yeah man just fire some challenges or races and I will be up for them!

Thanks man, I wouldn’t sweat it too much anyway considering your best lifts are significantly higher than mine lol.

Happy New Year to you too, going to be interesting racing you cause you have already basically done 180k squat and are closer to the dead 220k than I but I am closer to the Upper Body movements. The deadlift shall be the deciding factor!

Lol, 30kg onto my bench and 25kg onto the press sounds like fun.
It will be a year of bro lifts for me it seems. I might even do some curls.
I’m tempted to join this race, though I’m not currently doing any of those 4 exercises haha. I think that while you are definitely stronger than me Rattlehead, I’m not too far behind. I’d estimate my current 1rms in those lifts at 120kg bench, 70kg overhead, 120kg squat and 170kg deadlift. I’m so embarrassed by my squat lol.
I’m planning on returning to barbell lifts after finals (a world after finals seems an alien concept lol), though I had the idea of following an Elliot Hulse routine idea (based on front squats, deadlifts, weighted dips and weighted chins).
EDIT: Though that would only have me training 1 of the four lifts I think the remainder would have good carry over. Not enough to make me competitive perhaps.

I think you would be fine in the race with us, and even if you JUST did the race to the DL, you’d have a great shot considering you’ll be doing the lift 3x a week likely

Hey Rattlehead, sorry for clogging up your log but I’d like to pick your brain about your deadlift/lower back issues. Can you run me through what exactly happened and how you’ve come back from it? Have you incorporated specific mobility work? And I know you use a belt, how do you feel that has benefitted you and what weight do you put it on at? And in general are there any other changes you’ve made?
Sorry if you’ve covered this all somewhere else. Thanks!
