That was a very good looking deadlift J, Well earned.
SGSS has, once again, proven it’s a good progression.
Squat PR before deadlift PR.
Congrats on the PR! Looks like you could have grinded out a double

ELLIPTICAL
20 min interval
I have no energy whatsoever today. I sat around watching Vikings and searching the internet for ideas for my back yard. I finally managed to get on the elliptical while watching Vikings.
Congrats on the squat and deadlift!! After a monster full-body-disguised-as-legs sessions like that, I don’t blame you for not having energy today.
Well it looked like 550 would have gone up.
Thank God you stand on that wall.
I kid! It just sounded funny.
One of my best friends transferred from the Army to the Coast Guard around the time the rest of us just weren’t man enough to do it all anymore, and we tease him mercilessly. In reality, he should be telling us we suck.
Thanks TnT!
I’ll try not to slack off so much on my next PR attempt!
Apparently I have to show I’m not an incompetent fool. There are some things that will be useful like how to patch/change a tire on the fly. If I can muster the energy then I might still train this week. We don’t start till noon on Thursday so I can do my usual Thursday session beforehand. I’ve heard we finish early Friday so that’ll be like a normal day for me. That just leaves Tuesday.
We’ve decided to sell our house, and I want to get it listed ASAP, so I’m prepping it - if you skip training, you’ll be in good (well, my) company

First time doing these. So far, so good. Thanks for the suggestion, @MarkKO. I’ve seen these in logs but never bothered to figure out what they were until now.
Moving slow today. This took like 75 minutes. I also slept in. It’s 2:06 pm and I’m still putting off my yard work.
The more I think about it, the more I realize that I should probably call it off. But, I’ve also decided I can and should train. I’m planning to build a swing set next weekend. My dad is now involved so everything will be more difficult. That’s not a bad thing. It just means this equipment will be robust and will probably outlast me (and will definitely outlast its necessity).
My projects tend to take three times longer than I predict which adds to the argument of skipping training for the week. I’m planning to pick up the materials Friday afternoon and take them to my dad’s house to get started. If everything goes well then all the lumber will be ready to assemble Saturday. All the edges will have been run through the router and the holes will be pre-drilled. We’ll just need to dig the holes and set the posts in concrete Saturday. Hopefully the kids are swinging by Sunday.
Load up 600. See what happens. YOLO.
That’s fun times man! I just put a pretty robust one in our yard about 6 weeks ago. You know… just in time to leave as it turns out!
The kids will remember you and your dad doing that together
Pretty nice work for a fat guy.
I’ll take care of that this week. There won’t be any snacks at my training so I won’t be able to over eat.
5.18.20
Woke at 231.8 lbs again but I think I’ll use this week to cut a few pounds. 230 is my limit for now. After day one of bike training, I’ve fully committed to not lifting this week. I’m worn out. I should’ve known better but I wasn’t sure what the training would be. Well, it’s full of kits of little drills and fundamentals. How to stop. How to stop in an emergency. How to make an emergency turn to avoid a collision. These all sound simple but they’re in confined spaces. Everything builds from today.
They introduced us to the hardest test - driving three laps each direction in a 9’x9’ box.
To add to the fun, I have a bike that has straps that hold your feet on the pedals. They’re not clips, but I about bit it multiple times today because of those.
I feel very sorry for you because from where I stand, cycling is one of the most unpleasant things anyone can do
Or is it from where you sit !
Yeah, it’s this. And my hands. Using the brakes while pedaling and moving as slow as possible is exhausting. It’s like our patrol car driving - low speed/high stress.
Fucking everything. I don’t mind assault bikes for conditioning but an actual bicycle is just fucked.
