Just Bought A Metal Suit

I just recieved the v-type metal size 50 (for 180-200 lbs. people, Im 190 with Disproportionatly large thigh size compared to my torso) squatter.

I’m not sure how tight its supposed to fit, I can’t even pull on the over-all top. I can, with much, much force applied, pull on the bottom, but then I can’t pull on the shoulder straps. If I get one arm in, the crotch of the suit is about 3-4 inches from hugging my crotch, but there is no way I can get the other arm in.
Is this normal, or should I go up a size? Thanks a lot for bearing with my inexperience.

Squat suits are supposed to be near-impossible to get on, however alot of people are getting the straps on their Metal suits modified and adding velcro to them, much like a canvas suit. The suit should be Very Tight and somewhat painful to get on, but if you are using the Metal Briefs you probably need to go up a size due to their thickness

You may want to look into this or call Matt or Jim at EFS they are usually really good at helping out with this kinda stuff or check out Elitefts.com

thanks Will,
I also forgot to mention that Im going to start a medicine cycle in a while so I’ll probably need to get a larger size as it is

Actually, if I am reading this right, it sounds you are having trouble getting it up your thighs, which given what you have described relative to body type is not too surprising.

If you are able to get a strap up with the crotch about 3-4 inches from being seated I would think that once the suit stretches enough to seat, it sounds like the straps may even be a little loose.

I would state that you need to work on getting it seated in the crotch to assess hip tightness as this will be critical in the performance of the suit. The tighter the hips, the better.

It sounds like it fits pretty well, even taking into account your plan to gain weight. Keep in mind the material will stretch quite a bit.

Tight legs, although sometimes irritating, are a good thing in a poly suit b/c you really want the legs to be as wrinkle free as possible to provide the most pop out of the hole. This is one thing we have really noticed.

Lastly, you should really assess a stock suit as a starting point from which to base alterations to make it conform to your body type and perform optimally.

Get suit slippers.

I am 195lbs with 28" thighs and I wore a size 48 Metal V-Squatter up until a month ago. It is supposed to be tight. The slippers will help slide it up easier but you still are going to need to work into it. I pull my suit on as far as I can get it and then I take a wide stance and lunge in either direction to help work it up my thighs.

Good luck! You’ll love the suit!

thanks for helping ya’ll

Are you trying to put the suit on by yourself???..if so you need to get 2-3 guys to help it should take 2-3 guys and 20 minutes to get a properly fitted sq suit on…rb

ok well, that explains a lot. I’ve been trying to put the damn thing on by myself. It would really help if I knew anyone who could be physically present to help me out

ok, I’ve been breaking in the suit a little. Now I can get the whole thing on, and infact, the damn suit is loose on top, the thighs are really super tight, but some one pointed out that the hips should be really tight but they are not.
I guess I need to grow into the suit afterall.

Sorry big guy but I disagree. I can get into my suit on my own and it takes me about ten minutes. Just gotta know how to work it!
