Jump Strength Bands

Hello everybody.

Which bands do you recommend to perform bench press and squats with jump strength bands?

Thanks!

The bands I like the best are the ones we use at Westside Barbell, they can be purchased through the site www.westside-barbell.com and there is an explination as to which ones are most fitting to different lifts/ methods. Very reasonable and well worth the money!!

Great, thank you!

I think those bands are also made for squats, right?

Those too are great, they are the ones used at PPC chicago and I liked them quite well too. If you call to order them at Westside they can explain in detail how to set them up, I am not too good at descriptions:-( We do use those for squats, bench, deads, machine rows, really about anything you can think of.

The JS bands are easy to set up for benching; http://www.criticalbench.com/images/benchpressbands.jpg

Wow, great service!
Thanks to you both for helping me!

With the minibands, you should have them doubled underneath a dumbbell. Like in the following link, but under a dumbbell and not a rack

Now I got a lot of options. Great!

Damn, at least 70$ for shipping (12$ for band, lol)!

Hanley, you are from Europe. Do you can recommend a shop where I can buy bands without that much shipping?

iron woody also sells bands. I believe they are made in the same factory as JS. I have JS and bought the 22" and 12" bands from Ironwoody. Sometimes it’s nice to have the shorter bands. The 12" ones are awesome for using with the jumpstretch platform and DLs.

I think Power Systems also sells bands now but unsure on quality. You just want to make sure they are mulilayer and not just one thick piece of rubber.

I’ve had a lot of bad luck with IronWoody. Our first pair started to fray and split real bad, so they sent us a new pair. After one of the new ones split, we decided to go Jumpstretch. Not a problem since.

Best website out there for it imo. Elite does some good deals, but shipping to Europe is a killer. With liftinglarge.com it’s not as much of an issue and Mike and Teale will answer any questions you have almost as soon as you send it.

It’s not unusual for me to place an order on Monday morning, have it shipped by Monday afternoon and on my door step by Friday.

I know shipping overseas is pretty expensive, but for those of you in the States, if you order through Elitefts.com they almost always throw in pamphlet on how to set up the bands, and different training cycles for free.

Sounds very good!
Shipping is a lot cheaper, thank God.

Thanks for your help and recommendations.

It’s me again (I hope for the last time today)!

I found this site:

I thought it might be interesting for other people from Germany or countries where German is spoken (or even other parts of Europe) to know this site!

Good to know. I’ll have to watch mine. Too bad jumpstreatch don’t produce some shorter ones. I have found them to be very useful.

One thing that I did notice about the IW ones was that some of the pairs were slightly longer than the other ones. Not a huge deal, but a little anoying for setup. I also have jumpstretch minis that are slightly longer than any of my other jumpstretch bands. My pink minis are longer than my blue minis and all the others.
