One of my judo buddies is totally blind, and I was wondering if any of you have heard of, or seen judo books that are in an audio format. I’ve been googling all morning, and so far nothing that looks good. Ideally I’d love to find Daigo’s Throwing Techniques, but anything of quality would be great.
Have any of you ever come across a good judo audiobook?

I absolutly not. when i went to a international open next to my country, for the first time i saw a blind judoka (Black belt BTW), i was totally amazed how competitive he was (don’t know if he scored but he did win some matches).
The referees had to make both judokas to grab themselves before the match starts (and after every “matte”.)
ALso in my old BJJ club there was a semi-blind guy…
Heck, isn’t out there a guy who grapples with no arms and legs ? :S
I’ve worked with some blind people. First, does your buddy read Braille? If so, there are lots of services – some free, some paid – available to him.
Second, how computer-able is your buddy? The newer versions of Windows have built-in screen readers that are pretty respectable. If buddy has a scanner, he can scan stuff in, OCR it, and have the text read to him. Not perfect, but serviceable, and lots of people do it. Problem you run into is with pics/diagrams – someone will have to describe them and/or type the description into the scanned text (which can be brailled or read electronically).
Just google “resources for the blind” “braille resources” etc. and you can find quite a lot.
Lol I’ve been realllly tempted to throw one in but I’ve been restraining myself. There were a lot of blind wrestlers we ran into in high school [if anyone wants to make one theres your target]. Pretty much the same rules, you always had to have contact.
