Have you found seated partials to carryover well to your standing press? Awesome training session. Id say keep it up, but I already know you will.

I prefer it to carryover to my push press. I’m really doing it because of my Achillies injury. I’m gonna probably lower the pins one or two levels.
Half pressing 3 plates is pretty damn impressive. Nice

Well the axle is 25# (hollow). So it’s really 295#.

I’m going to try them. My gym doesn’t have an axle though, so I’d have to use a straight bar.
11/18/11
Chest/Back:
Low Incline Bench: 285x3.5
SS
Dumbbell Rows: 130s for a few sets of 10
Dips: 55# (I think I’m 260, so 315x5), followed by a 70# kettlebell (330) for 5 reps. I think I’ll try 90# (350# total) next week!
SS
Random Pullups
Incline Curls: 55x4. I’m deeply saddened.
SS
Thick Bar Triceps Extensions: 115x5 for several sets.
All of this was followed by random fucking around when a friend came in. 135x30 on flat bench, some dips, some pullups, some random curls, and posing like an asshole.
11/22/11
Shoulders:
Axle Push Press: Got 265x4. Pretty epic shit.
SS
Pullups: Got a 45 plate for 7 reps.
Rear Delts

I’m not supposed to, it’s just my ego lol. Did REAL push presses today though.

my push press and strict press are virtually the same lol
lol, I have no idea what my strict press is anymore. I just push press with an axle, for SM.

Any plans to do a comp?
I’m still injured, so currently, no. I hope I can go to one in the summer.

How did you get injured?

How did you get injured?[/quote]
Degenerative Achillies Tendonopathy, an overuse injury. Usually runners get it from running/stoping, football players get it from hitting other dudes at high speeds (absorption), and strongmen will get it from pulling events. I was none of these when I got it, so I have no idea.

Well the rate of tissue degeneration has genetic influence, so it could be congenital or possibly from when you were so heavy. Maybe a compounding of the two factors.

Or the fact that I like to randomly sprint with no prior preparation, at top speed lol.

that too. impulsive behavior definitely lends itself to injury lol … I should know.

lol. Well, hopefully I’ll be back training legs heavy again soon. I actually go back to deadlifting next Thursday, 145 with the axle bar so I can at least get SOMETHING out of it. Do a few sets of 20 reps, not to failure.
