I don’t think your squat form is bad enough to cause arthritis but if that video is your A game you might have some accumulated wear and tear.

The video made my back hurt just watching it. You are probably going to have to drop the weight 100lbs to get proper form with good depth. Post a video with 135lbs after you are confident you reporgrammed and we’ll see how it looks then.

I recently switched from parallel squats to near ATG and my mistake was trying to use too much weight causing me to hurt my back. I had to realize that I was using muscles in the ATG that I never used in 22 years of lifting and that scewing my back up was going to make sure I couldn’t lift for 22 more.

JRT, I hear ya. no it’s not my A game. I havent done squat or deads since december. I did squats again tonight and just can not seem to find a comfortable foot position. I’m all whacked with my form.

That’s why I only box squat even when doing ATG because it’s form control. I don’t deload on the box or anything, I just touch my butt on it. I made the boxes myself and use mats as half inch increments.

ok guys here is squat from yesterday. i dropped it to two plates and really tried to sit back. I’ve noticed from doing these and posting here that this is my main problem. im not sitting my ass back enough. I took this vid and looked at it and thought it was some improvement. it’s 225 and Im staying right there until i can get my form right.
