Join the Quest for a 495lb Deadlift!

Nice! Good luck guys! Hit a PR of 420 @ 178 yesterday. About a year ago I had to struggle and fight to get 405 @ 205 so i’m happy with this progress. Looking forward to the journey to 450-495.

My bruised ribs are now prettt much healed. Last week I wanted to deadlift and thought Iwold warm up with 185 picked it up about 6 inches and put it down. Yesterday I went up to 325 no problem. I didn’t have the grip for 375. I will be back up to the low 400’s by mid december and hopefully 500 by march 30.

Hit a 275 Zercher squat from pins. I’m getting an awsome stretch on SLDS’s now and their feeling really easy too with my current weight which felt quite a bit heavier a couple weeks ago. Hopefully this will translate to mean bigger deadlift.

made 370x3 trying to reduce the forward knee travel.

Just finished up week 5 Coan/Phillipe, 365x3x3. Also did a 355lb Zercher from pins the day before

I’m in. Conventional 455 lb is my best so far. I’ll probably just add 2 2.5’s to make it 500. I’ll get a video of each attempt. Good luck to the rest of you.

Nice zercher squat. My zercher squat is about 100lbs lower than my best back squat. Maybe that means I have weakness I should target. I’m thinking core and hamstrings. That’s what’s always sore after doing them anyway.

yo what’s up guys.wanted to join in this whole thing. close to 495>best at 465 so far. i intend to post a deadlift vid soon, although i am deloading this week. pretty much a conventional dl guy hsve never tried sumo although i can see the benefit of a wider base of support and a decreased range of motion. anyways, fuck yeah let’s pull.

Strangly enough, I can Zercher as much as I back squat now, and Im sure soon that my Zercher will pas my back squat. I might have form issues.

I think I remember H4M posting something about his Zercher being about the same as his squat. My hunch is that I’m still getting used to the Zercher. While I’m doing them, I feel my lower back, obliques, abs, and hams working in the lift with a little hip drive too. Same goes for what feels sore the next day.

as promised here"s 465> not perfect but smooth enough.

465

I’m a little pissed about my dead this week. I was going for 435 and barely got 405. My lower back is deffenatly the weak link. I’m gonna give conventional another couple weeks and if my back doesn’t catch up I’m going back to sumo.

Anybody else have trouble keeping the back tight.

that 465 was perfect.

Rack pulled 500 today so it’s just a matter of time before it’s a full on dead

500

Back gave out but a pull is a pull, it wasn’t ugly

equinoxedtmaster congrats, good job!!!

ashylarryku: Yes, just a matter of time, I’d say in the spring 2011.

keep it up everyone!

I’ll join this race, I should be there some time soon. I have been pulling 425 sets easily lately and have pulled a 445 for two last time I maxed out… 6 months ago. See where I am at when I finish my current program.

majik. nobody is going to pay attention to anything you say, all we can see is your avatar.

i started rehabing a buldged disc and no hip mobility during the summer, started sumo deadlifting as to not put my back in a poor position towards the end of the summer. Ive pulled 495 once conventional a couple years ago and now im 19, 6’ 4’’ and about 250, i hit 475 this past monday and will probably go for 495 in a few weeks so im game, i mostly didnt think it would come this quick.
