here’s me grabbing 405 for 8, form gets a little shotty at the end haha, I can do 465 x3, it’s confusing me why I haven’t been able to bump up to 495 yet, it’s fucking infuriating.
Sorry about it being sideways guys.
I’m so in for this comp.
You should stop taking the bar out of the racks for deadlifts, it’s making the pull easier and you are doing touch and go reps (which aren’t wrong or anything but you are not pulling from a dead stop for most of the reps. Try dead stop reps for a few weeks from the floor and be prepared to be humbled.
If you find your strength off the floor to be shit after a month of this, try some deficit pulls.
Just my 2 cents.
Yeah, I’ve been meaning to do it from ground level for a while now, I just feel more comfortable doing it from the pins, I’m not quite sure how the touch and go will really make a huge difference, but hell I’ll try dead stops.
It’ll make a huge difference. You’re getting quite a bit of rebound without pausing between reps. Still strong though man. What’re you weighing? I’d like to add that my race to 500 will be without a belt or wraps or anything, though I’ll probably wear my tendonitis straps but those have absolutely no carryover to lifting. I even wear 'em when I bench.

Fletch1986 wrote:
Tendonitus straps… what are those and where do you get them?
They’re straps that have a solid rubber bar on the inside to apply pressure to the patella tendon. I got mine at sports authority for $12 each. Pretty sure any sporting goods store will carry 'em. I’ve had one knee surgery and the other diagnosed with severe tendonitis so I swear by 'em.
Pulled 365x4 the other day, gotta start getting back into heavy pulls as I’ve been focusing on pull up strength lately. Not a PR (6 is current record).
Oh thanks guys for the kind words. Pulled 455 yesterday:
No biggie, still a PR…
Ah, and good luck to everyone else too… I guess I will have nothing to complain about, as it is virtually impossible to do a DL withouit proper ROM off the floor.
I’m in. Just got 405x5 last week. My best max is 435 lbs. My next meet is November 6th and my goal is 450 lbs in that meet. keep up the good work everyone.

I hit 405 2ish weeks ago and 395x2 last week sometime, going for 425 (or more) today, count me in.
I weight 164-166 pounds and lift with chalk, belt, and chucks(or barefoot if I forget 'em).
How tall are you?
5’9 barefoot
Ended up hitting 425 today, slow to lock it out… Rack pulls next few weeks I think ought to bring me up quite a bit.
impressive dead for that height and weight.
Thanks man
In a commercial gym people don’t know what they are looking at… Today it was kind of funny, I had to go find more plates because they didn’t have 8 of them around where i was lifting… my bad
i’m in. pr is 455, although that was with straps and belt. my best rack pull from midshin is 500 (again with straps and belt). Without straps, I’ve hit 425, but my grip seems to be a major factor. 495…here we go!

Chalk, if you’ve never used it, makes such a huge difference… I’ve never felt a grip slip with chalk on, though without it I use straps on my Bent over rows with 245lbs. It’s kind of embarrassing.
EDIT: Didn’t mean to say ‘upright rows’, I was on the phone and wasn’t paying attention. My bad
I’m in. 420x2 semi-sumo. In May I was 315x1. Pretty sure I can make the metric milestone of 200kg (440) before the end of November and hit 495 before my 20th birthday in March
