Hit 210 kg sumo after my regular squat training last week, which ties my conventional PR. Had another few kilo left in me. I think sumo is what’s going to take me over the top and will devote the next mesocycle to training this. Hopefully I’ll be up over 227.5 kg/500 lbs in the next couple of months.
Hit a 220 kg/484 lbs sumo this morning following a crappy squat session. I then failed at 227.5 kg/500 lbs. Couldn’t break it off the floor.
I think sumo’s the way to go. Gonna try to hit that elusive 500 lbs barrier in the next four weeks.

Just hit 400 a few weeks ago, this is a good goal now!
Getting close! My coaches had me switch to sumo a few months ago. Am hoping to be pulling 500 + by this time next year.

210 kg/460 lbs relatively easily. I think I might hit 227.5 kg/500 lbs at my meet in may.

I’m in. I’ve got a 430 sumo DL right now and a 390 conventional. 5/3/1 has been working wonders for the past 16 months and I assume it’ll keep going so in about 7 months I should be where I want to be!
I didn’t realize it, but 495 lbs are 225 kg. I been shooting for the big 500 mark all along. Might try for 225 kg next week or the week after and will report back; I’ve hit 220 kg in training the last two weeks.
