Join the Quest for a 495lb Deadlift!

finally got it last friday. 228kg/501lbs training deadlift, in this last dl session before my meet on sunday i did 210kg, 220kg (current competition best) and then this. Not beautiful to watch but a PR is a PR

(my setup gets the bar at 22cm from the floor, which is like .5 cm lower than competition standard, tldr: this is not partial)

So, I hit a pretty BS pull of 229 kg/503 lbs (BW 86 kg) this morning in training. Hitched it pretty clearly and it would’ve been red-lighted in just about all federations, but I wanted to lock it out and I’m happy with the new “PR”. I’ve got a vid if anyone’s interested. Going to go for a 227.5 kg/500 lbs “legal” pull next week.

Im in. My best is a 435 but that was a solid year ago, the past 12 weeks or so i’ve been getting back into deadlifting after not doing them for 8-9 months, hoping to get 495 by the end of this year.

Hit 500 for the first time this morning.

190kg for 8

My deadlift is going strong, this is my end of year goal. Best w/o straps has been 405, 435 w/ straps. Progressed my work sets 40lbs since then though so I think its definitely doable for me.

Extra points for snatch grip deficit.

I’m in BTW

210kg x 3

Hit a 415lb Deadlift 6 days ago going to try to accomplish this before / For my meet in august (definitely 500lb before end of year) I am in!!!

Hit a 220 kg deadlift at my first meet, 515 kg (1177 lbs.) total, age 18, bodyweight 102 kg

And set a national record?

I have not done regular deadlifts in a while but hit the hex bar today for the first time in about a month and got a new PR of 464. I did 450 6 years ago but have not lifted too heavy since then. 500 is coming soon.

Finally broke the 500lbs barrier

I did, in the sub-junior 105 kg class, the record happened to be 200.0 kg. Aiming for 240 kg (529 lbs.) at my last sub-junior meet in November.

well, it was a long road for me. I’d forgotten about this thread. but after pulling my SI joint out of place on one side in november of 2012, training with it like that until febuary 2013, then getting it looked at in may when i got a job, not being able to squat or deadlift for the month of june, then slowly coming back. I did finally break 500 at my last meet in may this year. so it took a bit over a year to come back from that completely, but was able to do it with a 33lb PR with 230kg. meet vid below.

So I’m now “meet certified”: here’s my final attempt from yesterday of 230 kg/506 lbs at 83.5 kg/184 lbs BW. Apparently I cut weight without even knowing it.

In on this… strength has been shooting up after coming off a diet. Pretty easy 445 pull last week, so I will make that my second attempt at my meet next week, so will call 456 or 462 for a third attempt.

In, hit 400x5 yesterday

Might as well post this, did this earlier this year. Also hit 525 in that session. Since then I’ve gotten 505 for a double.

I’m in. Currently 440.
