I can see how 465x10x3 could cause a headache…among other body parts.
Wait…was that on a deload day??
Note - he only did 60% volume there.
Oh…I’m not moaning, groaning, griping, complaining or pointing fingers. I was just trying to confirm that he deloads like the rest of us :)
I’ve found that if I drop the weight on my assistance stuff then it feels heavy back on week 1 but if I drop the reps I don’t get that and I seem to still get the benefits of the deload, so far at least.
Sounds like a good plan and makes complete since. That seems to be a common gripe about week 1, for me as well.
I will have to try the Joe-way, my next go around.
I think you need to get a little blood flowing or its hard to get back in the groove, but you should not do enough work to make you sore or feel taxed. I don’t think the amount of weight or volume matters that much if you follow this rule.

My post was meant to be informational only. No criticism of you implied, Skip. I gotta work on my people skills…
Lol…I didn’t take it that way. I’m not that thin skinned. I have just always wanted to use “moaning, groaning, griping, complaining or pointing fingers”, or some semblance thereof, in a post
When I was a cop, I had a shift superviser that would always ended shift briefing with, “Any bitches, moan, groans, gripes or complaints?”
They were working on the HS Seated leg press so I knocked out a few hacks and called it a day. No moaning, groaning, griping, complaining or pointing fingers…yet.

Good show! The deload over now? Looks like you survived it…

I did survive, now we’ll see if it did any good. I somehow always have this belief that I should come out of deloads and just shatter PR’s.
We played the best team in the league this Sunday, they were averaging 85 points scored and giving up 12. These kids play in this outdoor league and in two other indoor leauges so they play and practice all the time. On our first possession we had the ball in our own 7 yard line and I was lined up to the far left with trips to the far right. I ran a hard slant route and our QB managed to get me the ball about head high and infront of me about 8 yards of the line. The cornerback had bitten to the outside and I split the safeties so 53 yards later I’m standing in the endzone.
This got everybody fired up and we played a pretty good game against a far superior performance. We lost 50-32 but it wasn’t that bad a job for a team who’s youngest player is 33.
After the game several of thier guys came over to tell me that they hadn’t given up a touchdown of over 15 yards this season until our game.
I got unbalanced after 5 reps on the money set and had to reset. Got three reps after that but only going to count one of them because the form was crap. I got the require reps so it was a good day. I’m fighting my natural tendency to second guess everything.

Oh heck. If we go by form, I don’t know that any of my reps count. If the bar went up, the reps count. I think that is some sort of law.
Nice job with the touchdown. Keep that up, and you might have to add a “flash”, or “slash”, or some such type of athletic moniker to your name; “Good” just ain’t gonna cut it for 50+ TD runs.
Kevin, don’t because of me. My rack pulls are high as you will see because I am limited in equipment.
Ronda, you keep saying that but it hasn’t happened yet.
Cycle 7- Week 1-Day 3
Bench
5x170
5x195
5x225
5x10x165
Rack Pulls
5x10x465
V-bar Rack Pulls
5x10150
Bench was week but I manged to get my reps. Not sure why my bench is sucking so hard and I got really light headed on my last two sets of rack pulls and thought I was going to be sick. Somehow I managed to get everything done.
Fourth set of Rack Pulls 10 reps of 465 You’ll see how high they are, and I’m standing with two 25lb plates under each foot.
