186… that is kind of lean for you nice work there too.

solid back work out.

I have a question for you Kevin. I think I can drop my SLDL’s from my Friday workout as the Deads and Deficit deads seem to be hitting my Ham’s hard enough. Do you think it would be a bad idea to drop the SLDL’s at the end.

I know you didn’t ask me, but I would say yes.[/quote]

Yes its a bad idea or yes I can do it?

I could be mean and just say “Yes” again, but I think you can drop the SLDL if you’re doing Deficit DLs.

Skid is smarter then me about training… I just know how to rock some abercrombie and use a
foam roller-
if the movement is redundant skip it. Deficits are hard, and hit both the hammies and low back pretty good.
so I would say yes too.

Thanks guys, the help around here is always appreciated.

Monday-Chest and Back day #1

Bench 215 5,5,4,4,4 Total Reps 22
Rack Pull- Just above knee 425 5,5,5,5,5, TR:25
T-bar Row 180 8,8,8 TR: 24
Floor Presses 80 8,8,8 TR: 24
DB Bench 85 7,6,6 TR: 19

So my experiment of putting the floor presses in front of DB Bench has been declared a failure and they will be moved back after DB bench next time.

No expert but I rotate the deads with the sldl. I’ve dropped the deficits for the time being cause breaking deads off the floor isn’t a sticking point.
Now that you’re ending your cutting do you go back to putting weight back on?

hel: Yeah I’m going to try and put some more muscle on. After my surgery I weighed a whopping 160lbs so 185 isn’t really a horrid result for 8 months I guess. Still when I gain weight I gain the fat pretty much in abdomen and so every so often I’m going to have to cut to chop that back off. I have a very small wife (4’ 10") so its good to keep the old gut in check.

Tuesday- Quad Legs and biceps

Squats 215 5,5,5,5,4 TR: 24
24" Box squat 155 8,8,8 TR: 24
GM’s 165 8,8,7 TR: 23
BB Curls 110 5,5,5,4,4 TR: 23
EZ Preacher Curls 90 8,7,7 TR: 23

Thank god tomorrow is an off day. Looking forward to ramping up my food intake.

Make’s my wife sound tall. She’s 4’11" (and 1/2", guess that’s important when you’re under 5’). Have fun chowin down.

Tiny women are fiesty…

Thursday- Back day #2 and Shoulders

HS Iso Lat Pulldowns 110/side 5,5,5,5,5 TR: 25
Lat Pulldowns 170 8,8,8 TR:24
V-bar Pulldowns 150 8,8,8 TR: 24
Milies 115 5,5,5,4,4 TR: 23
BB Shrugs 375 8,8,6 TR: 22

I’ve got a SCA Tourney Sat. and a flag football game on Sunday so I’m gone splurge on the cals a bit this weekend.

They have to be.

Change the thread title to “JoeGood Gets Battered”, maybe?

My wife is 5.2 Ill give her 5.3 on a good day- and she is fiesty as H.E.L.L.

Nice work, how is this kind of volume doing for you, 20 to 30 rep seems to do allot for me.

kmc

The volume was killing me early on but now I think its starting to pay off.

Friday- Ham legs and Tri’s

Deadlift 275 5,4,4 TR: 13
Deficit Deads 225 5,5,5,5,4 Tr: 24
Leg Press 560 8,8,8 TR: 24
CG Bench 205 5,5,5,4,3 TR: 22
V-bar Pushdowns 100 8,8,6 TR: 22

Joe your deads have picked up quite a bit, nice work…

Now I have to thank you for the excellent catch phrase brotard.
Its now my favorite word

kmc

Thanks Kev,

I had an SCA tourney this weekend and in the second melee( team fights) I ended the battle with a broken nose, concussion, and pinched nerve in my neck. Took a charge from a 330+ guy and my chin strap broke and then my head negatively impacted with the ground. Finished the tourney, did a bunch of pick up fights and yesterday played in my football game. Feeling like steamed crap but will try and put it together when I hit the gym today. Headache is almost gone…

Monday- Chest and Back

Bench Press 215 5,5,5,4,4 TR: 23
Rack Pulls 435 5,5,5,5,5 TR: 25
T-bar from the floor 185 7,7,7 TR: 21
DB Bench 85 8,8,8 TR: 24
Floor Presses 85 5,4,5 TR: 14

Totally ran out of gas on the floor presses…

Hard-Core, Joe! I guess there was no choice but to meet him head-on?

Yeah at that point it was sink or swim.

DCA: I’m hoping I can skip suffering for a bit

Tuesday- Quads and Biceps

Squat 215 5,5,5,5,5 TR: 25
24" Box Squat 165 8,8,8 TR: 24
GM’s 165 8,8,8 TR: 24
BB Curls 110 5,5,5,5,4 TR: 24
EZ Preacher Curls 90 8,7,7,2 Tr:24

Will have to move up the squats and GM’s next time. Curls killed my wrists today…

Thursday- back day #2 and Shoulders

HS Iso Lat Pulldowns 115/side 5,5,5,4,4 TR: 23
Lat Pulldowns 175 8,7,6 TR: 21
