Founght in a 3 on 3 melee tourney. Format was round robin x2 so 10 fights in all with very little rest in between.
I’ve got a couple of bruises purpling up nicely but my 3 man team won so all in all it was a good day. Running around in about 30-40lbs of metal and leather armor in 90-95 degree heat can take a lot out of you.
Founght in a second tourney after that but I was pretty worthless at that point.

That sounds like a lot of fun! I spent the day drinking beer at the local RenFest.

Saw a documentary on Medieval martial arts wherein the SCA was featured briefly. Amazingly, Europe in the Middle Ages had fully as complex and mature hand to hand fighting system as did the East. With the advent of gunpowder and the gun it all became de-emphasized and lost over the last 4 centuries. There are some folks bringing back sword fighting (REAL swordfighting!) in the UK and Europe as we speak.

I’d love to see that here but the liability issues would make it impossible to get any form of insurance for a governing body.
In the Middle Ages squires trained with wooden swords, called wasters, before the moved on to the real thing. Despite the fact they were wood they were still dangerous but not as much as steel. Feudalism would have vanished over night with they started out with live steel. The SCA tries to use that training method as a guide line due to insurnace issues. Even so I’ve seen a couple of people die at wars, heart attacks etc.
Mid Incline DB Presses 65 8,5,4 rp
HS Shoulder Press 90 9,4,2 rp
CG bench 205 6,3,3 rp
lat Pulldowns 170 9,6,5 rp
Deads 285x5, 185x14
HS Ab Cr 145 3x8
Rough start at teh gym but felt strong towards teh end. Rep Pr’s all around though the CGB were close to failing. Weight Pr on the Lat Pulldowns. Not a big deal but I’ll take it.
My wife’s family teachs Escrima and Kali. Them dam rattan sticks hurt like hell and can be deadly. Looks fun as hell! See why you’ve got the forearm strength. Any of those held in Northern Bama? Love to see one.

Escrima - that’s badass nasty knife fighting, isn’t it? Think I’ve seen some vids of a sensei demonstrating some beautifully fluid ways of seriously ruining someone’s day for the rest of his life.

They have local groups in Huntsville, Decatur, and Cullman so there should be stuff in North Alabama pretty regularly.
Well I’m on day three of my cut so I thought I’d outline it.
Almost all protein, mostly liquid for convenience sake. About 1850/cals on lifting days, about 1590 on non-lifting days. Weight at start 199lbs, Bodyfat(by unreliable handheld thingy) 16.7%. Will do as long as needed or one month which ever comes first.
I will increase my lifts during this but I doubt it will be by much.
I’m going to put my head down and grind through this. Then get back to putting on muscle.
CG EZ Curl 5,3,3 rp
Reverse Grip BB Curls 100 8,6,5 rp
Leg Press-calves 540 14 reps
Lying Leg Curls 135 6,4,3 rp
Squats 245x5, 165x22
HS Ab Cr 145 3x8
Squats were high but I’m gonna count’em cause I had to grind the bastards out. Shoulder started hurting while squating and made it hard to focus on getting low. Still the first time for having 245 on my back for more than a single.
Rep Pr’s all around, weight pr’s on reverse bb curls and leg curls.
What weight and/or BF percentage are you trying to get to? What do you do once you get there? Bulk up again?
I like zerchers but I think my rp (regurgitation point) would be a lot less tan 20.

Hel, I’m shooting for 12% on my shitty hand held bodyfat reader. Yeah I know they are totally unreliable but I have discovered that just using them to track changes is useful.
Since I used to be very fat when I gain weight again what fat I gain goes right to my belly. So while my long term goal is to gain size I will have to periodically stop and drop fat every so often or I will get to a point where I am uncomfortable.
Well your Zerchers would have a lot less weight than mine but I have to agree. I was feeling a bit light headed after I finished that set.
