PtrDR–THANK you!!! I have seen the LIGHT through RESEARCH and RE-EDUCATION!! What was lost has now been FOUND!!! Amen, PtrDR!!!
Wait…
Just checking…
Still Jewish…I tried, though…
If you really want to do some research, start in Genesis. Think about why there are two totally different, mutually exclusive creation stories in the first few chapters of a book of “facts”. In chapter 1, the physical world is created, then man and woman silutaneously. In chapter 2, first man is created, then the rest of the physical world, then a woman from the rib of the man. It’s crazy, but there are two totally different stories–one beginning in Genesis 1:1 and the other beginning at Genesis 2:4!!! You can then continue to work your way through every single apparent contradiction in every religious text created by and known to man. .
Get back to me when you’re done…or better yet…DON’T.
Now I’m going to go hit the fucking weights and leave this shit alone.
the name and fact of Jesus and His resurrection really bothers some people doesn’t it?
Poor taste? Calling someone a devil…someone you do not even know…seems in poor taste. And why would the devil speak well of the Lord Jesus Christ?..not a logical statement at all.
You’re an idiot. Read this little book called Revelations about the coming of the antichrist.
Vuduchyld,
There is nothing contradictory at all in these accounts. They are one in the same; one describes the creation of the world…the second describes more in depth the creation of man. Nothing contradictory…just one expanding on the other. There are many other incidents that are described in several ways in the Bible. NONE of them contradict each other…they just focus on different aspects. If they all were identical one would think collusion has taken place. The is far from reality. The Bible has over 40 authors over 1600 years…and NO contradictions of itself! Show me where something contradicts and I would gladly look into it.
The is an art and science of Biblical interpretation. Allegorical statements…literal and figurative lanquage and scripture interpreting scripture. All of these compose the Bible. The basic message of the Bible is Gods redemptive plan for mandkind. Its so simple even a child can understand it. However…it does take some effot to understand more than the basic message of Christ and Him crucified. Christians will never stop learning off additional insights inside the Bible that go beyond the basic plan God has revieled. And if we could understand it all…who would want a god that we can completely understand? That wouldnt be a god at all!!!..No…we humbly bend the knee of humility and bow to the omnipotent creator of the Universe!
Oh…and I DO lift weights also…AND take time for Gods word. The two are not mutually exclusive!
PtrDr,
What about the two completely different genealogies for Jesus in Mathew and in Luke? In Mathew, from Jesus to David is 28 generations. In Luke it is 43 generations. Other than Jesus, Joseph, and David NOT ONE name is in common between the two genealogies.
as far as debate goes…I just made ONE comment…and boy oh boy…look at the responses! me repsonsible for turning it into a debate? again…all I did was make one statement…it seems plenty of people had plenty of opinions to add to that!!
Doogie…I will get back to you on your question. I am at work and don’t have a Bible handy.
As far as starting a debate: all I did was make ONE comment! and wow…look at all the reponses that got! Me starting the debate?..looks like I had many willing and eager participants! You can’t debate with yourself!!!
Hell, I’m surprised that you even acknowledged that there were many human authors of the book. I figured I’d get to read about how the word of god is never wrong…
Enjoy your lifting and your faith. I’d just appreciate it if you would not belittle mine. Peace.
Vuduchyld
How in the world did I belittle your faith since you never mentioned what your faith was to start with??
Give me a physical break!
I think we should pass out some cyber valium for some of the posters on this site! Some of you are soooo hypersensitive!
I would never speak of Jesus Christ in a WE vs THEY seige mentality and I have not done so here.
I would not recommend something that I knew was a lie or fairy tale either. I just know that we (me) are sinners by nature in need of a savior. That no matter how good I try to be or how many commandments I try not to break; that I can be perfect for only perhaps a few seconds at a time at best. Therefore I need the grace of Christ for forgiveness and salvation. Either you choose to accept Him or you choose to reject Him. Its between you and God…NOT me.
Just think about this for a second: tommrrow any of us can die and ETERNITY is an awful long time. Make sure you have the correct information and have made the right choice in advance.
I wont try to convince you to become a Christian against your will but I will insist you back up your statements with fact when you say the Bible is not true or that Christ did not live on earth…live the perfect life…handled over to Pilate and crucified and resurrected!
The Bible speaks for itself as far as its authority.
If you are going to make accusations be prepared to back them up with fact.
oh…Vuduchyld…yes…the Bible was written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Nuff said…
Doogie…
These are NOT two different geneologies. Matthew goes from Abraham down through Joseph then Christ. Luke goes BACKWARD from Christ all the way to ADAM!; therefore…you have a far greater listing of generations. And yes…there are PLENTY of names mentioned in both geneologies…
Abraham…Isaac…Jacob…Aram…Phares…Jesse…Obed…Boaz…Zorobabel and the list goes on and on…
Now…you said there were only 3. Again…before you blindly make assertations or believe say something like…“well…I heard that the Bible has contradictions in it…bla…bla…bla…” …check out the facts first…!
This goes for all of us…
Your reply got a good laugh out of me this morning. You claim to have never belittled anybody’s religion, then you proceed to make the most pedantic, condescending post in the whole thread!
Nice job!
Look, we could debate this topic for years and years. Plenty of reasonable people have done so. This is not the place, now is not the time, and you have not shown yourself as even a remotely worthy adversary.
You surely must realize that you can not frighten me or anybody into accepting your savior or your god!
Condescending?..it was not condescending at all…just admitting the human condition of sin.
So you deny the existence of God?..thats your problem then friend…not mine…
I never considered this a foe/advesary type of situation. After all…I never attacked you or your religion. I don’t know you and don’t know if you have a religion at all…as I mentioned in the last post.
And as far as scaring you or others?..that is in the perception of the reader I guess. I didn’t write anything in there that could be viewed as scary…UNLESS you deep down believe you have no hope after you take the big dirt nap!
Nothing about dying and where I know I am going scares me in the slightest! Apparently it just might scare you though as you brought this emotion up…NOT me…
If truthful information is “scary” to you or others; maybe you should take a good look at YOURSELF and YOUR heart. Being scared then is in the eye of the beholder!
Again…believe or not believe…the reality of death is that its a 1 PER PERSON type of thing…were ALL gonna make it in other words!!!
Make sure you have the right answers for whatever lays BEYOND death for eternity. Your fate is in YOUR hands…not mine or anyone else’s.
No, you’re wrong. Each book lists a completely different genealogy between Jesus and David. I’ll type them out for you later when I get home.
Also, there are clearly two different creation stories in Genesis. You’re two perspectives explanation above does not change the fact that they are completely different.
one thing- TRANSLATION. a lot is lost and messed up in translation… and many ppl use these incorrect translations to build arguments on, incorrectly. so, unless you can read hebrew and/or greek (which i think Brock actually can, and a good friend of the family could) then the literal wording of the translations is moot.
not to mention that words change meaning over time… gay used to mean happy, now it means homosexual. I am sure i am misquoting, but here goes- “He who seeks Me early shall find Me.” Brother Arnold (the family friend who could read both greek and hebrew) showed my dad that the ‘early’ was not meant as a chronilogical indicator, in kings english early roughly translates to ‘diligently’ or ‘with conviction,’ and the untranslated copy Brother Arnold had showed this, for the word there was indeed ‘diligently.’ so an entire passage can be completely miscommunicated due to the evolution of language. that is all i have to say on that.
to the topic at hand- Bill Goldberg is indeed one HUGE Jew.
Question to the bodybuilding Jews- do you stick to the kosher stuff? how impossible does that make life if you do?
