You two guys - I am not angry or upset. Was just frustrated that on a serious forum like this, the majority of the content of this thread was pretty subpar. No point saying much more about that, as we will just go back and forth over it.
I already stated that this stuff never goes anywhere, no one is ever persuaded to change their stances over these subjects, which is of course fine and normal. It’s just supposed to be a discussion, my guy is better because… It would make more sense to me for someone to say Foreman beats Tyson, cos look at this jab or right cross or whatever. Rather than Foreman DESTROYS Tyson cos Tyson IS SO MENTALLY WEAK. I just don’t get that kind of approach. It is not credible.
Both of you know your stuff, I am not hear to get “butt hurt” or to pointlessly argue and get angry. It’s just a fucking internet forum lol.

I mostly agree with you. The reason I don’t speak (or write) with much of a gray area is because I truly believe my opinion. That’s all. It doesn’t mean yours isn’t valid.
You’ve also got to remember that this topic has been discussed ad nauseum on this forum - everything about heavyweight boxing history kind of devolves onto the Ali vs. Tyson argument - so I wasn’t going seriously in depth. Just stating my case.
Although I do really get tired of talking about Tyson quickly, because his career just isn’t that impressive, I do agree with you that on his best night, he probably could have beaten any fighter that’s ever fought - to say that I think Ali beats him is actually me saying that I think if their “best night” versions fought ten times, Ali beats him maybe 6 or 7 of those times. That’s not to say Tyson couldn’t win.
When I was younger I did dismiss Tyson a bit too much as a fighter - when I was growing up, Tyson had already become something of a joke, the guy who bit Evander’s ear off and got his ass beat all night by Lewis’ jab. Hell, I was 10 when he came out of jail.
But as I’ve gained more experience boxing, I see that Tyson really was a terrific, super talented fighter. Nobody uses angles like he did, text book, beautiful angles that let him really take advantage of his power and speed. The guy was a once in a lifetime combo of speed, power, and accuracy… it’s a shame that he could not put it all together after a certain point.

Having watched the Spinks fight, it is a genuine shame that none of these guys are around anymore. The HW division is just so fucking poor. If any of you are interested, there are a couple of Brits who are OK, one is David Price and another is a young kid Anthony Joshua who is going for the Super Heavy gold this summer and is 22 and definitely has some potential.[/quote]
I haven’t watched a heavyweight fight in years. Haye made it a little exciting for a day or two but then it faded… with any luck, once the klitschos retire, it will gain some momentum again.
