dang, bad luck on the shoulder. hope you can get it healed up without surgery.

Full thickness tear. Most surgeries are performed when the Tear is more than 3cm but if it close to the attachment to the bone- it is reccomended.
Good news on the other tendons.
Advil and ice man.
Hows you sleeping? My clients who have rotator issues sometimes get their best sleep in their recliners.
Any talk of cortisone shots or anti-inflammatory steroids?

on prescription nsaids for right now, diclofenec, and have a script for PT. sleep isn’t too bad, I tend to roll onto that shoulder though. honestly 99% of the time the pain ain’t bad. a little pinch at most; unless I try to bench of course, or throw something overhand

well, washing hair is never an issue with me, lol. here is the thing: I have complete range of motion, or as good as it ever has been in recent memory. I really think this is just a flare up of the shoulder issues I had 5 years ago. Then the eatern european quack I saw insisted I was too thick for a tear and recommended rehab w/o MRI. I started off not being able to carry a bag of groceries or pick my beer up off the table . and ended up benching 700+.
so for now gonna pursue rehab with the notion of scheduling surgery maybe for August, that way I can give rehab a chance, enjoy most of the summer, do a meet as a DL only guy, rehab my basement bathroom, etc before becoming an invalid for a number of months.
Sounds like a plan Pete, at least you can sleep. Cause fucked up sleep with shoulder pain sucks donkey balls. Been there done that have the t-shirt.
well Derek, my sleep is fucked up but for other reasons.
More Jamisons Stat
Good luck with the shoulder. Had both mine repaired ( cuff tears ) still waiting to see how it turns out.
Derek, that’s the best medical advice I’ve received lately.
Bruce, thanks for stopping by. Good luck with your recovery.
first official session as a deadlift specialist, about 8 weeks out from meet. very happy with tonight, especially considering I haven’t pulled anything over 555 straight weight raw from the floor in like a year and a half
hanging leg raise 3 x 10
rotator work
stretch
raw conventional pulls 145 x 10, 235 x 8, 325 x 3, 415/505/595/645 x 2, nice PR. never really done anything but singles over 600, this will change for this cycle. both reps with 645 moved fast and I left a lot in the tank
rack pulls (low about 2 inch elevation) 415/505/555/595 + 200lb in chains, PR or equal to PR
ssb gms no belt 4 x 8, last two sets 315
dbell shrugs 4 x 15 w/130s
few weeks of working standing most of the day and my flexibility and hip pain issues are almost 100% gone. makes getting to the bar so much easier
band abs 4 x a lot
ghr 4 x 8
decided to use the work gym for the first time today. this way I didn’t have to either do cardio early or after work at home. win win
20 stepper
20 elliptical
wow, big DL’s for reps !!! must feel good to get back to some heavy ass weight.
Yes…very nice pulling!
very nice pulling

I’ve had a standing workstation in a box sitting on my porch for months now. I think given this last round of back tweaks, it’s time to put it together.
It’s amazing how awful our careers are for our spinal and hip health.
Great pulling.
thanks all for stopping by, esp Brotard. now if anyone ahs a single ply uspf/uspa/ipf approved dl suit for a 270lber that you are willing to part with, please let m eknow. okay squat night, despite a few mishaps. first, had planned my day to out of the office at 4, but of course at 3:59 got pulled into something. finally made it out and into the gym, but for some reason it was a waste land, minus a dude with more tattoos than me that stunk of recovering junkie, and this 5 foot 5 18 year old bench specialist. at least the bench specialist could run the mono
plan was to do cambered bar box squats however there was a new EFS yolk bar w/handles. odd bar, like it, rides even higher and more forward then other ssbs.
yolk bar w/handles box squat 65 x 10, 155 x 10, 245 x 5, 335 x 5, 425/475/515 x 3. easy enough but still no spotters so switched to front squats
front squats 135 x 10, 225/315/365/405 x 3, equals PR with knee wraps, no wraps this time
now was running late for commitment with my 5 year old, so did the following circuit
seated calve 4 x 20
leg ext 4 x 15
cable abs 4 x 12
rev hype 4 x 12
stand calve 4 x 20
done, will have to do prowler tomorrow
