It's true homies, eagles don't roam in flocks

Damn Pete Sorry to hear that, Healing vibes sending your way…

Thinking of you and hoping for the best. But whatever the news, I know you’ll persevere. Cause you’re like that.

flipping squat and dl nights, for a number of reasons. decided instead of two heavyish back to back squat sessions it would be smarter to ‘deload’ a little and play with volume. plus wanted to get some conditioning in to compensate for pour weekend lifestyle choices

cambered bar box squat to low box + foam, raw. 155 x 10, 245 x 5 335 x 5, 385 x 5 for 3 sets, a minute rest between sets.

damn that bar is a helluva core workout, abs, obliques most torched

no dye

I am experimenting with planks right now, for that ‘static’ ab strength for squatting. also will be adding in front squat holds. cables abs, hlr, spread eagle sits are favs as well, as well as just doing occasional front squats.

MRI verdict in: small tear to rotator. surgery recommended, long long time off after

Have they ruled out rest and PT for a “small tear”? Or are they saying surgery is the best chance for full recovery?

surgery as best chance, but it will put me out for damn near a year, I am exploring other options

Jesus, a year. That definitely sounds like a last resort to me. I’ve read small tears can heal with rest, PT, and maybe some cortisone therapy, but I guess it depends on the severity and where the tear is located.

I’d like more details. What cuff muscle/tendon? Is it a full thickness tear?

Which Rotator?
Any Labrum damage?
Bicep Tendon?

Small tear = surgery?

Dr. rushed through it this morning, have call in for more detail.

labrum and bicep tendon intact

Good luck Pete. Hopefully the second opinion will be more positive than the first.

confirmed its is 1cm full thicken tear of the sprasapnitus (sp)

Full thickness tear. Most surgeries are performed when the Tear is more than 3cm but if it close to the attachment to the bone- it is reccomended.

Good news on the other tendons.

Advil and ice man.

Hows you sleeping? My clients who have rotator issues sometimes get their best sleep in their recliners.

Any talk of cortisone shots or anti-inflammatory steroids?
